Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:55 pm by flissyg

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH The Burning Bush!!!!! Empty AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH The Burning Bush!!!!!

Im so glad I found this rant page because Im ssssssssooooo tired of this friggin burning. Ive had it for over a year, constant burning. It started out as such a small thing, a bit of burning here and there, kinda felt like a YI. Then the burning pain increased It starting hurting more, hurting every day, all day, all night, it spread to the entire vulva area, all the way to the pubic hair, down the buttocks and finally my inner thighs. WTH is going on? About two months ago I thought the Dr. had found the magic cure for my pain, Lyrica. At first it worked wonders, then it started not to work as well and for the past two weeks, the burning bush is back and she is pissed off!!!! Im not sure what changed *shrug*. My depression is back, Im crying off and on again. I cant allow for my husband to know how depressed I am because right now he is under major stress at work and I dont want to add to it.

So Im back to sitting on ice packs, back to not being able to sit down. Right now I am on my knees as I type this. This is so frustrating. I feel like Im at a loss. Ive tried everything, even some expensive things that the Dr. used me as a guinea pig for.

Im tired of this. I hate mother nature. If I ever get my hands on her..........Im going to set HER bush on fire and see how she likes that. Anyone have her address?

Hello Barbie, Since the time that I wrote this post, things have improved by about 50%. I found a great gyno. He has done two surgeries and procedures that consist of him injecting alcohol under the skin to burn the nerves. It hurts like a motha when he does it but it does seem to help. Unfortunately it only has helped for 2 months and now I have to go back to see him. I try to have hope that he will find the magic cure.

Thanks for replying

hugs

Have your tried not using any purfumes products down Ther? I manage to get rid of my burning pain through only using aqueous creme to wash with and washing my hair ovwr bath (not wile im in it) so shampoo doesn't get into my bits. I also changed my washing powder to non bio and no Softner for all my knickers and pj bottoms, lidocaine also helped my recovery. I also use coconut oil everyday and that stuff is amazing.

That might just be the little extra you need to get that other 50% back x

Hi Sparkle, I stopped using all perfumed products a few years ago and I also use dove bar soap to wash with. I try not to get any soap down there. I also only use Ultra soft Charmin. I usually go with out undies unless I have to leave the house. I hardly even go swimming now because the chemicals cause me more pain. I do use Lidocaine 5% ointment to numb the area but it only numbs the top layers and I need something to numb deeper. I use A and D ointment which seems to help. I used to use Emu oil but that stuff costs a fortune. I may try the coconut oil that you use.

I see my Dr. in a few more weeks and he may plan to do another procedure. If he is planning to do it, he better do it quickly because I just received an email saying that he is retiring June 1st. I am very depressed about it because he was the only Dr. who has ever helped me and I have seen many.

Thank you for your reply

hugs

Hi BpCookie,

Do you mind sharing how your burning started? and what caused the burning to spread to the entire vulva/aggravated your symptom?
Mine started with a tissue trauma i think, so I'm trying to use remedies that reduce the inflammation there:)
