I'M NEW - Do I listen to my gyno who I feel has it wrong?

Fri Mar 09, 2018 6:17 pm by Tunes25

I am a 25 year old woman and wanted to share my story here as I feel frustrated by the suggestions of my gyno and am hoping for some advice.

To give the context for this: in September 2016 I moved in with my long term boyfriend after living abroad a year and (nearly) abstaining from sex. Within a few weeks I had got a yeast infection which I treated myself successfully, but then 2 weeks …

I cured myself 100% of vulvodynia twenty years ago--I hope this helps someone

Mon Mar 12, 2018 4:33 pm by totallycured

Every so often I'm reminded of the constant, persistent, horrible pain I was in two decades ago, and I reach out to try to help others who are suffering. If someone had offered me a solution during that terrible time, I'd have jumped at it. I hope this helps someone.

Yes, I did have terrible vulvodynia. It felt like someone poured acid all over my vulva. My doctor confirmed it and was …

Recently Diagnosed which has motivated my research study

Tue Mar 06, 2018 4:54 pm by ebclose2free

Hi everyone,

My name is Eliza Barach and I was diagnosed with vulvodynia in October of 2017. I'm also PhD student at the State University of New York at Albany. I work several professors at SUNY, but one in particular, Dr. Mitch Earleywine researches marijuana and its possible efficacy as an alternative treatment. Our previous examined cannabis and symptoms of PMS/PMDD and found that women …

Dear all,

Today has been the day I've been waiting for. The day something FINALLY makes sense.
I've been told countless times that I've got nerve damage or a muscular condition, yet none of the specific treatments have helped me. My GP suggested attacking this from a different angle so referred me to a dermatologist specialist

after having a vestibulectomy with no success, I decided to visit …

Taken over by the pain

Post  painfulV on Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:23 pm

Hey everyone,
I am 19 years old and just recently formally diagnosed with vulvodynia and interstitial cystitis. Needless to say, I am in constant pain and discomfort. So far I have tried taking Uribel for my bladder and using some nameless cream for my vulvodynia. Both of these have been to no avail...What are some treatments that have helped you?? As far as oral and topical medications?? Do any of you use any kind of numbing gel/cream before sex? This is my worst problem...I am in a relationship and have been for 3 years and we used to have an AMAZING you-know-what life, then this set in. It has completely changed our relationship. I just broke the news to him yesterday and he was upset to hear what I am suffering with is chronic and not able to be cured however promised he would work with me and loves me regardless of those kinds of things. Please give me tips on how to keep my relationship alive in spite of this awful condition!!! I also have to sell my horse this month because I can no longer ride him since I am in so much pain and discomfort. These stupid conditions are breaking my heart as I feel like I am losing my loved ones because of it; it is even difficult to hang out with friends or go to college anymore (mostly because of the IC). I feel like this condition is taking over me and my life.. Sorry to be so morose but I know this isn't exactly the most flowery condition or situation.PLEASE any advice or just sharing stories to help me not feel so terrible would be greatly appreciated!!!!

While you do everything you can to cure the condition, you can still be intimate with your partner in ways that don't involve penetration, just take it out of the equation, so that you are not backing off through fear and then getting screwed up about it if he initiates anything, and then you won't be afraid to initiate anything either....just do what feels good, you can find ways of having a sex life without pain.
