Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Hi,
I recently went to see someone at kings hospital and she told me amitriptyline (low dose 10 mg) was not the best medication for pain, and if I didn't think it was making a huge differnce to the pain and I was having side effects she suggested that I stopped taking it, which I did. However technical hitch is I have just had an MRI scan and two of the discs in my back have a reduced height and is touching the nerve which explain why my leg is numb. My vulvar pain hasn't been too bad lately and I have been able to have (nearly) pain free sex for the first time in nearly 4 years, the back and leg pain has got worse so I have been precribed gabapentin (if my leg is more painful this will effect vulvar and pelvic pain) which I really didn't want to take too two tablet yesterday 300 mg and felt horrible tired, spaced out, horrible headache and wanted to cry ! Just wondering if anyone has experience these side effects and do they contine or stop?
