Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

My name is Kelly and if you can't tell I am from the great state of Tennessee. I live near Nashville. I am 25 years old and have been married to a great man for three years. Last year my New Years resolution was to seek help for a big problem...I couldn't have sex with my husband. He literally could not penetrate me at all. I did some online research assumed I had vaginismus and mostly pretended like it wasn't happening. I got brave and visited an amazing clinic in Nashville and got diagnosed with high tone PFD. I had never even heard of this before. I did physical therapy and stretched with dialators for almost a year finally my husband and I were able to have penetrative sex!!!!

Throughout this process a "burning" "stabbing" problem I have had and tried my hardest to ignore for years got increasingly worse. I was recently diagnosed with vulvodynia and I am trying to understand the diagnosis and stay positive. Very fortunately sex is not a trigger for me. Mine seems to be unprovoked and sporadic meaning it comes on for no reason but also there are times I am completely pain free. I am currently using a 5% lidocaine numbing cream during flares which takes the edge off occasionally, vaginal Valium, and most recently I am taking Savella a medication that works to calm the nerves in my vulva. I look forward to connecting with you and learning as much as I can!

Hey I lived in Lexington, KY for 4 years welcome! Sorry you had these problems they're a royal pain. At least you can have sex I hope me too as I just got the surgery. Glad you're doing well Smile

I live outside of nashville and i would love to talk about dr and therapies you have gone through....I just went to Charlotte NC to see a specialist, but I still have found no one in Nashville or south of Nashville that is familiar with this problem....

I live in Florida now and wasn't aware of the problem when I had it but there's a group over at St joes I believe that were really cool (the hospital on Nicholasville near UK) where do you live in lex? As for UK I have no idea
