Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. Does heat or cold give you a little relief? Sometimes I'll freeze a water bottle and place it on my lady parts. Wrap in wash cloth or something that won't make the cold unpleasant.
What kind of soap do you use TiNK?? Are you on any meds?? Tell me a little about your situation.
I know it's very difficult to not feel like your alone but I know exactly how you feel. We (VV sufferers) have to move forward. Find a solution.

Hi Evie hun, I do feel some relief from ice cubes and cool swimming pools and the sea on holiday! And a hot bath. I was on Gabapentin but had to stop due to bad side effects.

Re: Literally feels like acid has been squirted into my vagina today!
Hi tinkerbelle2,
I too have been experiencing an acid like feeling "down there". Its been bothering me for about 3 months now. I've let it go much too long, but I've been to busy to see a doctor. It seems to come and go. TMI: but it seems to get worse when I make a bowel movement. Sometimes I wonder if my urine is too acidic and causing the burning feeling. I could very well be your diet. Do you eat a lot of acidic foods? Try removing all acidic foods from your diet, maybe even do a cleanse and after a few weeks see if you feel different. I've always had this kinda of burning rash feeling down there every once in a while. It almost feels like a yeast infection with out the yeast/ odor. I do need to make an appointment with my gyno, I suggest the same for you.

I'm just checking in to say that I experience that acidic feeling in EXACTLY the same way and it also gets worse after a BM. I don't think my urine is too acidic (I've ph-tested it), and I've done a low-acid diet for a couple of months and it didn't help. Tomorrow I'm going to see my GP to ask him to refer me to a lab to test for lactobacillosis/cytolitic vaginosis (you can google it if you haven't heard of it, there's one pretty good article written on it, and apparently the acidic feeling can be caused by too many/wrong kind of the good bacteria, lactobacilli). My gyno refuses to test me for it. If you ask your doctor at your next appointment and he/she comes up with a suggestion, could you please post it here? And I will do the same!
Thank you!

Re: Literally feels like acid has been squirted into my vagina today!
Hi Jen and katinstras,
I'm not sure what foods actually are acidic? I became a veggie a few years ago so I don't eat meat and rarely eat fish...I eat a lot of fruit and veg and salady stuff. My favourite food is pasta with tomato and basil lol. And I like chocolate and biscuits ?! I suppose I should research it as I don't know that much about it

Re: Literally feels like acid has been squirted into my vagina today!
I guess citrussy things are acidic. Jen, I also seem to flare up worse after a BM or urine. Owwww! It's confusing because I haven't changed my diet in anyway but maybe I should start to. Maybe we could've just developed some sort of intolerance which contributes to the vvd

Tinkerbelle,
You can check out this link (hope it works): http://www.ic-network.com/patient-resources/diet/diet-introduction/
It talks about the diet for people suffering from interstitial cystitis who normally should avoid acid in their food and beverages.

stinging
Any improvement? I get stinging at same location each time I use compounded vaginal estriol. Why that spot? Tests never show yeast but it does respond to Diflucan. Nobody can figure it out.
