Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hi!

I have vaginal vestibulitis. My doctor says no more jacuzzis and hot tubs, but I really miss them. I tried using the hot tub with waterproof incontinence pants which didn't work. The water got in through the top of the pants and around the legs. Yesterday, I went to a scuba diving store to see if they had something. The salesperson told me that the only thing that would totally keep water away from my skin is a heavy duty dry suit that looks like something out of a horror film. Using it would defeat the purpose because the suit is so thick that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the hot tub.

Anyone have any advice on how any waterproof clothing that would keep water away from my vulva?

Thanks!

JT

Hi! I don't have any answers but I sure do love my long hot baths, which I haven't taken one in awhile because I'm afraid Sad I hope someone can offer your advise! Do you find it hurts when you take a bath, because I always felt like taking a bath helped a bit. I just have a burning sensation near the opening down there.

I wonder if all the long baths have made my problem worst. What's even more funny is iam looking to buy a new home with my husband and we saw one today that had an amazing jacuzzi bath tub. Lol story of my life.

I would personally think screw it and use them anyway. Does it really aggravate you down there? I guess all the chemicals must be bad for the v but i dont actually get any extra burning from it myself. I go to a pool and gym with a spa and sit in the jacuzzi for ages. I really feel relaxed and that helps me manage the burning. Why should we have to not do anything we enjoy! I would rather die than have to live with all these ridiculous restrictions.

I'll pass on extra infections just from staying out of something easy lol but if u dont get yeast, bv, or cervical infections than I guess do what you want but its a good way to get yourself sick quick especially with a precursor... yuck! Lol...

you're basically marinating in bacteria yuck... even people who are healthy are warned about it my bf doesnt go in unless its a private spa just trying to help there are a lot of studies done about it too. So it could help try it and see if your pain gets better. It helped me a little.

Lol alana! I get what you mean but there's bacteria everywhere. My thing is public loos...ergghh. I have to put toilet paper down on the seat, hover and touch the flush and lock through tissue. It's a procedure! Lol

Not a fan either but id you use them a lot (hot tubs) and arent seeing results maybe try staying away for a month to see what happens. Maybe you'll be lucky and find out that was your problem. Obviously I don't know but it could help Smile

Any advice on using hot tubs? Empty Thanks for the hot tub advice

Post  JT Mon Dec 16, 2013 2:23 am

I love hot tubs so much that I really don't want to give them up forever. So, I'm thinking about having latex, water impermeable shorts made that don't allow water to get in around the legs openings. I know people who work in latex and I might be able to have some custom made. My surfer friend told me that waterproof surfing bottoms would still let water in and the waterproof part is really about keeping the skin warm.

It would be great if this would work out. If it does, I should market them....a lot of women would probably appreciate them.  Smile

That doesnt sound too good you're creating a warm environment to make yeast grow... if you're prone to yeast its gonna manifest BUT give it a go and let us know. But keep in mind that yeast thrive on warm moist environments...
