Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I'm sorry im rambling

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:55 pm by flissyg

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Back pain and leg pain? Empty Back pain and leg pain?

Post  Lms911 Mon Dec 02, 2013 5:57 pm

Hello loves! So I've been thinking hard about all the craziness wih my lady parts and tryin to think of all the things I've been feeling this past year ( the burn has been happening alot this year) I have burning in my vagina and twice this year I felt a shooting pain from my belly down my vagina. It has only happened twice. I also have lower back pains and a pain that runs down my right leg. I've never had back pain and I'm wondering if this could all play a part. I'm sure someone has posted something like this so I'm sorry if I'm asking a question again. Also at times I feel like my butt check burns but it only last for a few seconds? Anyone else relate? I saw a specialist and he said it was dermatitis, which is weird because I have no rash! He also said my back pain has nothing to do with my vaginal burning >:/

Back pain and leg pain? Empty Re: Back pain and leg pain?

it sounds like a mild case of pudendal neuralgia. I have a lot of vibrations in my right buttock, it's horrid!
I also get random pains that come and go. I have no idea what triggers them or makes them dissappear. They also diagnosed me with sciatica (??)

anyway, just so you know, if you ever get pain with sitting, it's a pudendal nerve problem. Unfortunately, doctors don't admit it really exists, they claim it it "very rare". pff

Thanks for the replays ladies! My doctor just dismissed me saying the back pain has nothing to do with it, but this year the burning has been at its worst and my back hurts! I sat really funny one night with my son on my lap and I went to a chiropractor and he cracked my back pretty good and said I probably pushed my pelvic bone. My back felt fine after but now it just kinda always hurts. Not to badly but my leg pain feel likes it straining. Ugh the joys of being a women! NOT!

Back pain and leg pain? Empty Re: Back pain and leg pain?

Oh doctors make me mad - back pain can be linked to vulvodynia! Without getting tooooo technical (I’m a lay person!), there are a number of nerves that form the sacral plexus (a network of nerves that is located in the lower back, at the back of the pelvis). These nerves include the sciatic nerve, gluteal nerves and the pudendal nerve. So an issue in the lower back (trauma, compression, muscle/nerve inflammation, bone/muscle stiffness, structural problems etc) can potentially effect one or more of these nerves. Also, irritated nerves in the pelvic area can cause the pelvic floor to shorten and tighten (which can also cause vulval pain) It might be worth getting a second opinion from another chiropractor or a women’s health physio? (if nothing else, to have it properly ruled out as a cause rather than just dismissed).

Hey sweetie, are you still using the Bemadryl and where do you actually apply it specifically when you do? I have been getting lower back pain but I think it's more to do with bad posture and slouching. I don't know though!

Hey tink! How are you sweetie?? I've been thinkin about ya! I take a pill. Like just a regular allergy pill it just calms down the burn. I still feel kind of raw down there but it takes the intensity down a bit. Give it a try! I hope it helps! I slouch alot too! I'm sure that plays a part in my back pain. Hope your doing well Smile

Back pain and leg pain? Empty Back and leg pain

Post  Sunflower82 Tue Dec 03, 2013 10:24 pm

Hi,
I've had v for a long time, too many years to write down, it's only in the last couple of years I have tried different treatments, half way through this process I hurt my back hoovering !!!! About two months after hurt by back I suffered from a numbness/ pain discomfort down my right leg into my foot!

Cut a long story short u had a nerve block at l4 l5, after about two weeks 95% of my v pain had gone and my hunneymoon was saved, I went from not being able to have sex to being able to have pain free sex and no burning after ! And no medication

The block did little for my leg symptoms so I have just had it re done!!!!
This time was the opposite effect, with 24 hours all the related pain was the worst ithas ever been in a long time !
Surely this must show the two are related ??

Sunflower thanks for all the info! I just have a gut feeling my back has something to do with it. The doctor sure didnt think so. Maybe next appointment i'll boot him in his ass then turn round and kick him in the balls and suggest that he put a Steriod cream on it Smile
Tink aw hunny sorry to hear about the thrush. I've never had thrush, and I actually really haven't had to many UTIs or yeast infections in my life. My last flare up I did use n over the counter yeast infection medicine and boy did that make me feel 1000 times worst! I've been praying for ya love! I sure hope we all find a way of of this crap! Sometimes I think man I wish I would wake up with a penis! Lol I would just tuck up back and go on with my life pain free Smile my pain hasn't been toooo bad which I'm thankful. I think the cream the doctors say to use make it worst! I use crisco down there. My vagina has turned into a kitchen, but it is very soothing. Grrrr

Drs just drive me nuts - they can be so patronising & ignorant about all this.....I have back pain too & mine is definitely linked to the V. Dr was dismissive but physio said lower back pain can cause the nerves to get crushed and irritated. Also since I've been having physio on my back & hips my V pain is getting better.... My Dr gave me steroid cream too & it just made things a whole lot worse ....
