Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I'm sorry im rambling

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hello! I am new to this site, I am 25 and was diagnosed with Vulvodynia about a year ago. I've only done the lidocaine treatment and I hate it. It's messy and I forget to apply it twice a day. I have never been able to have pain-free sex or orgasm with a man and it is seriously affecting my life. My last boyfriend and I couldn't have sex because I would cry. I haven't had a boyfriend or a successful sexual partner since. I have internal burning that isn't excruciating, but it's enough to make me not enjoy sex. It has seriously affected my relationships, and I consistently turn away from men I care about because I am too scared to let them get close. I also have pain because I'm really tight (sorry for the information!) and I do have trouble getting wet (eek! sorry again!) so sex is just brutal for me in so many ways. I really want to cure this and I refuse to accept the notion that I just have to live with it for the rest of my life. I am going to make a chiropractor appointment and see about acupuncture, does anyone else have any tips or supportive comments? It's so hard to not feel alone even though I know there are so many of us out there! This is the first time I've reached out so hopefully we can all help each other through this horrible battle!

Thanks in advice for all the help and comments Smile

Awww dont worry not all men are like that but I felt the same. My boyfriend came to my appointment with me yesterday (tho it was for an infection not v) but after I freaked he reassured me and said "its just sex calm down". And we'll work thru it together..my point being not all men are idiots. Have you considered physical therapy to work on your muscles (tightness) and try some good lube-astroglide is my favorite. Hope I may have helped a little bit... where are you from?

That's so great that you have a supportive boyfriend Smile I know there are sweet guys out there, it's just so hard to figure out how to bring it up. I haven't considered physical therapy but it is definitely something I would look into. I'm from Canada! It's cold! Razz I have tried lubes before but I feel like a lot of them just dry me out more. My doctor recommended Replens but that didn't work for me, although I may try it again. I will try out the Astroglide and see how it works Smile Thank you so much, it feels good to just talk about everything!

Need advice on treatments/cures Empty I feel ya

Post  21andcounting Thu Dec 05, 2013 6:03 am

Hi!

I'm in a similar situation. I have a lot of burning during sex, not to the point where it is unbearable or excruciating, but enough so that it is not enjoyable and actually a pretty bad experience. I've tried the numbing cream too without success. Some other treatments i've tried have been PT (which isn't as useful for the burning pain, more useful for people who's defensive muscle contractions cause their pain or inability to have sex), Lyrica (anticonvulsant used for nerve pain), and other topical creams (estrogen testosterone creams). None of those worked for me so now i'm getting a vulvar vestibulectomy and really hopeful that it will be the cure I am looking for. Feel free to message me if you want any more info on some of these other treatments!

Hey babe, you aren't ever alone believe me! We are all here for you. I also have the internal burning which randomly worsens. If it's at its lowest sex is possible and borders on good, if it's like high I would not let anything near me down there!
