Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Re: First acupuncture
Hi , well I have only tried it twice ! But so far it hasn't done mych for the V lol !!! The pain in my legs and shouldures due to tensing it has helped thowe, no the needles vary but none on the V. My wrist, feet inner ankle , near my knew my leg ammm elbow area too ??? She talks a lot L and numbers muttering ? She also found my sacrum to be very tensed as she checks spine body movements , breathing she did find trigger points on upper thigh ect which she released. But she says I'm not breathing properly I breath into my chest which is then not letting my stomach relax and more than likely having my pelvic floor tense too ??? ATM my pain is pretty bad last two days very unfortunate as I see my boyfriend on Monday as he is home from university and I'm in such bad pain :/ it's so unfair ! I am considering just trying natural things but tonight the meds are looking more and more as a relief I think ! Mine is unprovoked but around the baginal opening does seen to be the rawest burning. I do think my tight pelvic floor muscles are contributing mind you xxx

Re: First acupuncture
Needles in your V?!! Definitely not lol! I thought that might be the case when i went for acupuncture but for anyone thinking of doing it, don't worry - no needles in the the V! The nearest mine got was just above my pubic bone.
Sounds like your acupuncturist has given you a thorough assessment Zbrown (ignore my question in an earlier post of yours that I replied to - you've answered it here!). And tense muscles can definitely cause pain (primary and referred) so its great that the acupuncture helped with the trigger points she identified. But it's hard to say how many sessions before/if you get some pain relief from your vvd, it's very individual. I felt most benefit a few hours after each session but it didn't last long and I went back regularly in the beginning. If you can afford it and you are getting benefit from releasing trigger points I would say keep going. If tight pelvic floor muscles or sacrum are your problem then you'll probably also need physio/chiro to sort them out - acupuncture will only do so much I think.
Btw the Heal Pelvic Pain book has some guidance on deep abdominal breathing - definitely try that too to help release tension, it really works. Hope your pain eases so you can enjoy your time with your boyfriend!

Thanks loulou, I have so far purchased when sex hurts book it was a interesting read ! I may get that one u suggested this condition is so draining ! I am a hairdresser and it starting to take it's tole. I may go to a chiropractor very soon and hopefully it will help I am not on any medication ATM but I'm not sure if I should just ale it as my gynocologist says that's what she will start me on if I go back but that's not going to cure pelvic floor muscles is it :/ I do feel quite alone in this situation no one understands how much I just want to be myself again xxx
