Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Valium suppository.
Hi everyone,
I have been dealing with this emotionally and psychically painful disease for about 9 years. My biggest issue is sexual activity. Daily activities, like wearing pants or sitting, don't seem to bother me. While I am sensitive on the outside, most of my pain is excruciating pain, and it is on the inside. I recently saw a doctor who has been rated at top of the line, she suggested Valium suppositories. I'm a bit hesitant about this solution, or lack of solution. Has any one had experiences with Valium suppositories? Positive or negative, I wouldn't mind hearing either side. I don't object them, and I would try them if they help this awful pain, I would just like to hear if anybody has their own story involving them.
Thanks so much,
Sarah

Re: Valium suppository.
Hi! I'm using suppositories pretty regularly now to help me progress through the dilators. It helps me a lot with muscle tightness and spasms, but never helped in the past with any of the nerve pain. I've never tried putting them in before sex though, theoretically it might help! There is no harm in trying.
Re: Valium suppository.
My doctor suggested using them for pain so I tried them. They helped but it was only short-term (meaning for an hour or two), and the time that they worked for decreased dramatically in a short period of time (within several weeks they did not work for very long any more--maybe 30 minutes). And the relief was not enough for intercourse.
If I used them for several days in a row I would have slight bleeding from them, nothing major but I did need to wear a liner. I'm not sure if this occurs for everyone but it was irritating for me because the liners caused burning (counter-intuitive!)
My pain is muscular and nerve pain. I will tell you that for times when I had muscular pain during the night that was keeping me awake and I would use one it was helpful to relieve the spasms and help me to sleep. Hope my experience helps with your decision.

Re: Valium suppository.
I just started them on Friday. My PT suggested them and so I got the prescription from my doctor. I only have pain with penetration, so I'm not sure if they're working. I am also having discharge--thank you for clearing that one up. I was afraid something was wrong. I don't know if I'm going to refill my prescription on them. I got enough for twenty days and unfortunately you have to use them quickly or else they expire.

Re: Valium suppository.
why would valium expire anytime than after a year? That's not true in the least. They are like any other drug.

Re: Valium suppository.
It's a compounded medication built into a suppository that looks like earplugs, so it's very different from the regular pills that are more shelf-stable, so yes it is true. I think I'm going to stop them once they're gone though. I don't think they're helping and I keep having light bleeding throughout the day even though I'm only using them at night.
