Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

My Life Turned Upside Down Empty My Life Turned Upside Down

I'm almost 16 years old. When I was 14, I had about 3 or 4 UTIs in that year and I believe that was the cause of my vulvodynia today. A few months ago I would get this weird acidic feeling on the outer side of my vagina and some itching. It would throb with discomfort and the doctor said I either had a UTI or yeast infection but that's not that case. I know for a fact I have vulvodynia due to intensive research and now I have changed everything. I can't go out with friends to the beach or their pool because it would be super uncomfortable, I can't wear underwear at night, I get uncomfortable during school so it's hard to concentrate, and I have started a completely new diet...gluten free and low oxalate foods. LEMME TELL YOU IT HAS HELPED!!! I also just took my first calcium citrate pill and I'm hoping it will help my symptoms. I also am trying to convince my mom to take me to a pelvic muscle physical therapist. I have three problems that contributes to my vulvodynia-1.) the constant UTI's when I was 14 really messed me up down there. 2.) I used to eat the most highly acidic foods ever that I guess irritated me down there. 3.) my pelvis has always been a little messed up. ALSO DON'T TAKE AZO CRANBERRY PILLS, THEY ARE HIGHLY ACIDIC AND I USED TO TAKE TWO A DAY. DIDN'T WORK. CAUSED MORE IRRITATION. AND DON'T TAKE MEDICATION PRESCRIBED BY YOUR DOCTOR THAT HAS CHEMICALS BECAUSE YOUR DOCTOR PROBABLY DOESN'T KNOW JACK SH*T ABOUT VULVODYNIA. BE NATURAL, EAT NATURAL, AND YOUR VULVODYNIA WILL GO AWAY. My vulvodynia symptoms have lessened due to the fact I have been eating more organic and been exercising a little everyday. I still am battling with this nightmare of an illness but I believe one day I will be cured and you can too. And here's a little tip: don't be stressed, when you're stressed it will get worse. Be calm, breathe normally, and heating pads do help when you apply it to the area where it is irritating you. Best of wishes xxx

My Life Turned Upside Down Empty Re: My Life Turned Upside Down

Hi Everything
It hurts me to see when the young have to go through this nightmare but im so glad you are finding out the same things i am... When i told my newest doctor about my diet he looked at me like i was an alien or something...The diet change gave me relief and i didnt get pain flares again ever since so he told me to continue anyway as long as i was willibg to do frequent blood tests

We can heal this condition, i have no doubt about that now especially since the last 6-7 weeks... my pain has gone from 100% (at its worst) to 20% and i have been helped a lot from a generous and wise young man (Nicholas) on this thread for the last 4 weeks who made that possible
https://vulvodyniasupport.forumotion.net/t622-pain-free-with-dr-robert-morse
If you can id suggest reading the whole thread... Lots of helpful and empowering info...

I find it sad that the 3 vulvodynia specialists and the doctors ive seen through the years havent been able to help me with anything other than tests, suggesting therapies and treatments to manage my symptoms, sending me around in circles, diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and medications... (pain meds, hypertension meds, antidepressants etc) but now im finally off the medications. Im being helped so much more and to reverse the condition, over this forum, by a person ive never met and who isnt a trained vulvodynia specialist... for free... i mean, its so upside down lol
