Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Jeans that don't put pressure on my vulva
Just wondering. I am a country girl and ride horses. I can't wear jeans anymore because of this hideous v thing going on down there. I don't hurt as much when I wear loose shorts in the summer and sweat pants in the winter but you can't do farm work or ride horses in shorts and sweat pants. And there is a heck of a lot to do outside when you have property and horses. Has anyone found any brand of jeans that do not press on your vulva area. I've had enough of this crap and really need to find something I can "work" in literally. Any advise is appreciated.

Re: Jeans that don't put pressure on my vulva
I've taken to wearing underwear and trousers/shorts that are a size too big for me. I get a lot of 'have you lost weight?' comments. Not ideal but better than the pressure from clothing. Unfortunately I still can't wear jeans. It only really works with waistbands that have a drawstring or some elastication. Jeans that are too big sit too low on my hips and the material is still too inflexible.
I don't know anything much about the practicalities of horse riding or the sort of work you are describing but have you tried the kind of trousers that they make for trekking and hiking? I don't know which country you are located in but here in the UK we have shops like Millets, Blacks and Mountain Warehouse and the kind of trousers I'm describing are of a more substantial fabric than sweat pants but don't have the hard seams that jeans have. I sometimes wear those in the cooler months of the year and find them comfortable and practical for wet weather and gardening-type work.

Thanks for your reply. I am in the US and haven't heard of these brands but will look them up on the net. I've tried wearing jeans too big but then I get tired of pulling them up on my waist. Not that I have a thin stomach and I hate belts cause I have to pee a lot cause I drink a lot of water.

If you have outdoor clothing stores that sell brands like Berghaus, The North Face, Timberland that would be the kind of place that's equivalent to the shops I mentioned. I never know which of the brands we get here that you also have over there!

Do you feel comfortable in soft leggings?

Hard to believe but I've never worn soft leggings. You mean like yoga pants or the ones people wear under big shirts. I have thought about jodpers but they look so tight on the vulva.

What about this? : http://www.wallis.co.uk/en/wluk/product/clothing-265973/trousers-265996/stone-printed-tapered-trouser-4607643?bi=0&ps=20 You can find it in any colour, i bought three in different colours and are so comfortable and of course classy! You can wear it with high heels, sport shoes, ballerina shoes, u name it. Also, you can apply a harmless cream (e.g bepanthol) in your vulvar to decrease the contact with the cloth.

Re: Jeans that don't put pressure on my vulva
Hi Meelie,
I find that wearing 'jeggings' helps a lot. I'm not sure if you have them over there but they basically look like jeans, but they're a lot softer like leggings, however without the feeling of being as exposed as you would in normal gym type leggings.
I used to wear skinny jeans and the idea of not being able to wear them any more bothered me a lot so this type was the perfect happy medium for me.
Hope that helps!
