Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Biopsy recovery time? Empty Biopsy recovery time?

Post  Tynk00 Thu Sep 01, 2016 2:07 am

Hi everyone,
I am new here and have been suffering for 4 months. I know that is nothing compared to some women on here. My story starts like most. Was totally fine until one day I got a yeast infection. Went on 14 days of terazol and 4 Diflucan pills over a 1 week period. Yeast cleared, but was left with burning and stinging on right side of my vulva. My Gyno said everything looked normal, but could be skin issue. He then began me on steroid cream after cream. Vulva just got worse. Finally he recommended a biopsy. I had that 7 weeks ago. I am still in so much pain from it!!! It looks healed over excpet for two spongelike holes. Not deep but they are so tender and sore. Sex hurts afterwards, vulvodynia we mentioned, but finally went to my derm. She thinks I overdid it on the creams and I should have used ointments. She said leave it alone and see if it gets better. My issue is the biopsy site kills!! Has anyone had one? If so, how long did it take to heal? I don't know if it's the biopsy or previous issues, but much worse now than before biopsy 7 weeks ago.
Thanks everyone!

Biopsy recovery time? Empty Re: Biopsy recovery time?

I can't help you with the biopsy recovery time, but I've got burning and redness in V opening, most likely from taking tons of Monistat, steroids and different creams. It's been about a month since I've used any creams and I'm still red! Is anything helping your burning? What did the biopsy say?

Biopsy recovery time? Empty Re: Biopsy recovery time?

Hi- biopsy came back normal (of course). It looks normal as well, besides the little holes. My derm said never to use creams down there, bc they have tons of alcohol in them which can be drying. Also, it can look normal to untrained eye, but could be a burn or slight rash. Bc it's wet down there takes much longer to heal than on your arm or leg. So frustrating bc my Gyno saw nothing, but this all started after a yeast infection. Btw- I didn't have any burning on vulva even with yeast infection... That started day 10 of the terazol cream and day 3 of my 4 Diflucan.

All I have been doing is soaking in water, rinsing after I pee and using Vaseline... It helps a little bit, but sex really aggravates it. It doesn't hurt to have it, but hurts the next day and for days after. Tight clothing can too. This has been miserable and I'm so scared it will never end. Everyone says time will help, but how much time??? Haha. I'm just not sure if my previous stinging and burning still exist, or the biopsy is causing it now. When I touch the biopsy site with Vaseline, it is very tender and sore and stinging and burning is there. I was really sore from all the steroid creams too.. It's all blending together in one big pain cycle. Hope you feel better soon.

Biopsy recovery time? Empty Re: Biopsy recovery time?

I've been debating on seeing a derm, all the Obs want to do is give me antibiotics even though I've tested negative for infection! Did you see a specific type of derm? I feel very awkward going to one for this!! Lol! I'm wondering the same, I've used no creams, rinse after urination, but still red and burning! I mean this has been 3 months!! How long could healing really take??

Biopsy recovery time? Empty Re: Biopsy recovery time?

I honestly just spoke to my regular derm. It was a long shot, but she seemed super knowledgeable about skin issues down there. I actually have an appointment with a vulva specialist in 2 weeks to see what I can do to fix this.
My gyn basically said he was stumped and I should see a specialist or a derm.. I booked specialist ( took me 2 1/2 months to get in) and just happened to see my derm in the meantime. She was the one who equated biopsy to like having a baby... I had 4 punch biopsies. 2 on inside and 2 on outside 4 stitches... My gyn said sex is fine after 2 weeks my derm was like no wait 2 months like after a baby.. I don't have a baby so I didn't know... Derm said anything down there needs to be alcohol free. She was surprised a gyn would prescribe creams... Ointments only... One thing I haven't tried is estrogen. I'm not on the pill and haven't been for 7 years.. I lost a ton of weight right when I got my yeast infection. I also had the flu.. My periods have been screwy since... Don't know if estrogen drop that fast could cause vulva issue, but apparently estrogen can help rebuild the tissue?? Idk- I will talk to any dr who is willing to help me at this point.

Does sex hurt for you? I know what you mean about the time... Seriously, how long can it take to heal skin? Only thing I can think is it is constantly being rubbed, touched ect by just walking sitting.... Idk.. I'm at a loss and just wonder if it's biopsy or the stupid skin irritation.. I will tell you that the stinging and burning with open wound was similar to what I was experiencing before, so was hoping it was a skin issue.. Just not sure why no one could see it.
