Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Vitamin E? Olive oil?
Has anyone every tried applying vitamin e or olive oil topically? I have a dry spot at the entrance of my vagina, but I'm scared to apply anything as creams/gels seem to make everything worse.

Re: Vitamin E? Olive oil?
Someone else on here said they were using Coconut Oil as a moisturiser. I've not tried it so don't know if it will work.
I was given a tub of emulsifying ointment (also known as emulsifying wax) which I think is basically a parafin wax that you apply each day. The gyno said it keeps things nice and moisturised and it's really unlikely to cause you to have any sort of reaction.

Re: Vitamin E? Olive oil?
I've found plain baby oil to be very soothing plus vaseline mixed with a drop of lavendar oil. I think the oil justs stops friction in my case but it really helps. As for infections I think we're all a bit different because I get UTIs if I use water based lubes but not if I use oils. The only way to find out if it's going to help you though is to try it seeing as we're all different!

Re: Vitamin E? Olive oil?
I use E oil, I think it smooth it, it is not medication so it shouldn't cause any side effect believe me I have used so much medication down there before to treat yeast and bacterial infection and etc. now I can't use anything. V E did helped me at beginning but now doesn't help anymore. I don't know about coconut oil, where can you buy it?

Ive gotten a yeast infection from using coconut oil before, but it did make me feel better while I used it, vitamin e will soothe the area a bit, ive tried it before too, ive also tried primrose oil, and that also made me feel a little better, but you can get a yeast infection.

Re: Vitamin E? Olive oil?
Thank you, ladies. I think I'm going to opt to stay away from these oils.
Lavrose, did you get a yeast infection from primrose oil? I'm taking it orally, not applying it vaginally. I hope that doesn't run a risk of infection too
LalaYe- you can get coconut oil from the grocery store (especially Whole Foods, Fresh Market). I cook with it. Be careful about using it vaginally, though. I've heard from several women it causes infections because of its anti-yeast/anti-bacterial properties.

Re: Vitamin E? Olive oil?
Thanks Alana! I'm taking the primrose oil in hopes that it will help balance stuff out and ease IBS/PMS symptoms. I've also read that over a period of time it has anti-inflammatory properties. I don't expect it to help the V pain much. I'm way too scared to put anything on topically at this point lol.

Re: Vitamin E? Olive oil?
Coconut oil was ok for me, it is soothing. I would only use any cream as a short term measure anything can irritate me after a while!
