Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Vestibulectory removes 85% of pain, Birth removes 15%
I was diagnosed in 1999, at 21 years old, right when my sexual life was starting. I'm pretty sure it started after a reaction to spermicide on a condom, which I thought was a yeast infection, so I treated with a lot of creams. It was too much for my skin. It is strange to write these words now, at 40, and revisit what was a very depressing, painful part of my life. To get to the point, after years of trying everything under the sun and the redness and papercuts getting progressively worse, I decided to get a vestibulectomy after 10 years of VV. The surgery removed 85% of the pain, which is a great success. I could have sex, and for the first time enjoy it without needing a lot of alcohol to numb the pain. After a year of good sex, it was time to make babies, I've made two! Because of the lack of skin to stretch, I tore significantly, but that was like booster surgeries each time when getting stitched back up. These free 'booster' surgeriges 'reorganized the skin again, and actually removed the remaining 15% of pain, and now I actually have trouble NOT orgasming. It all seems so normal now, that I forget to terrible 10 years of my 20's. So that's the short version, here's additional information.
Though I live in Phoenix where a vuvlar specialist lives, I opted to fly to Portland and get the surgery done by a very experienced female doctor at the teaching university there. She has been doing these surgeries longer than most any other gyn, and I liked that she probed me gently as I feel a good surgeon should, and was a female. I kindof like that, emotionally. Even after flight and hotel it was cheaper than doing it locally. I stayed at a hotel there one week with my mom as I recovered
Equally important in my recovery is the associated intolerance of wheat, milk, and eggs, which if I eat for two weeks continuously will make me go down in a ball of pain on the floor after urinating and for the next 5 hours, even if I'm at a mall, I discovered. Just like the scene with Tom Hanks in the move The Green Mile.
Well, my babies are home so I have to run! But isn't that nice to read!? My babies that I made by having sex without pain and whose birth led to an even better sex life are home!
It took me a long time, but it gets better. Keep at it, keep researching, and it'll happen for you, too!
Be strong and stay away from negativity.
Love,
S.R.

Hi Pangea,
Did you have a full vestiulectomy or partial? Also is your pain generalised or provoked?

Wonderful story! I'm so happy that this terrible journey is over and that you can have a normal life...something all of us ladies with this condition dream about. I also have the same questions as Sarah too though. I have vestibulodynia with provoked pain. It seems I've always had it. I'm curious about the outcome of surgery when the condition is like mine.
