Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I'm sorry im rambling

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Vulvodynia may not be as complicated as you think. It may not be nerve damage (which is actually unlikely and unusual) but a more common factor that may affect 90% of everyone's cases. That is ------ pH imbalance! Think about it. Where is that BURN coming from? Why is there a burn in the first place? Why does it resemble a burn-like feeling? Acidityyyyy! Girl, you've turned into a jalapeno pepper from the inside out. literally.

I used to have vulvodynia. Hands down, one of the worst things I've ever experienced in my life. Not only did it take a physical toll on me, but mentally and emotionally as well. I mean I couldn't enjoy a damn thing. I've done SO MUCH research, I'm basically an expert now. What I realized might have been what caused my vulvodynia was so simple. I used to have coffee everyday (with no water before or after drinking it), and LOTS of spinach. Why does this matter, you ask? Oxalate and acidity levels. High doses of oxalate or oxalate buildup can cause vulvodynia, and this may cause an unbalanced pH level in your system (*cough* especially ur vagina). Plus, the caffeine just added to the burn. So then I tried all kinds of diet. Gluten free, low oxalate, blah blah blah, and so many creams that seemed okay at first but just ended up making my pH level more off balance. So, first things first.

THIS IS WHAT REALLY HELPED. SKIP THE SURGERIES AND CREAMS. THEY'RE NOT THE REAL CURE. CURE THE NATURAL WAY. REVERSE THE PROCESS.
-*************Calcium citrate pills (you can get them at CVS or Wallgreens)
-Multi-vitamin pills (get that vitamin c, girly)
-Lower back exercises
-Skipping the caffeine everyday & the high oxalate foods

(but if you take the calcium citrate pills and return back to normal, you can eat normally -- even high oxalate foods w/o the irritating burn. Just don't overdose or make it a daily thing.)

So, it's been a year now and counting. I'm super fine. 100% normal. Note, however, this will take time. The reason you have vulvodynia, most likely, is because it was built up over time and then BAM. It hit you and you woke up with the worst burn ever. You need to be patient and you will very likely see a difference in 2 weeks, maybe even less.

ALSO, LADIES. A SIDE NOTE FOR ANY FREQUENT UTI-PRONE SUFFERERS *aka me*, nature's the best medicine!
SKIP THE ANTIBIOTICS. I HAVEN'T HAD A UTI IN MONTHS.
-Uva Ursi is a natural plant that can take away your UTI in a few days (sometimes as short as less than 24 hrs)(Amazon)
-D-Mannose is an all natural sugar that binds to the bad bacteria in your bladder and kidneys, and flushes them away. Takes about 24-72 hrs to clear. Usually 24 hrs, though. (Amazon)
-Add a garlic clove or two, smash it up or poke holes, and put in glass with a little bit of hot water, let sit for 5 minutes, and drink! Kills only bad bacteria and even antibiotic-resistant bacteria! Woo! (BE CAREFUL W/ GARLIC. VERY POWERFUL. Don't eat raw very often because it may irritate your bladder by burning it a bit. This can take a day or two to heal if done so.)

BEST OF LUCK, LADIES. I WAS SEVERELY DEPRESSED OVER THIS AND BECAME DISHEARTENED WHEN I HEARD THERE WAS NO CURE, BUT THE CURE IS REAL AND OUT THERE FOR EVERYONE. EVERYONE'S BUILT DIFFERENT, BUT DON'T GIVE UP HOPE. sunny sunny sunny

This sounds like it makes sense. I'm allergic to milk, and I often go off dairy for a while to help my eczema. Although I eat calcium containing veg, probably not often enough to provide the RDA I should have. I may try taking a supplement for a few months just to see.

It makes sense if you suffer from burning and everyone with this symptom can try diet changes, however not everyone has burning
