Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
Well I thought today bugger the dilators! well not literally
As ive only tried them a handfull of times and they are setting off some flare ups as they do at first..
I figured I want to give the Lyrica a real go and seeing how it stops my general pain without me setting it off regularly!
Does this make sense?
Re: Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
the lyrica helped me a lot. i hope it does the same for you. it makes sense to me.

Makes perfect sense, you don't have to rush these things and if you can get some pain relief it will make the dilators easier to use.

Re: Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
Thanks girls thats what I was thinking, get some pain relief and then begin again :)I do hope it works..I read on an online patient leaflet that lyrica can take a month at a steady dose before you know how properly effective it is.
How long did it take for you jules?

Good luck Sebby!
Im hoping each one of us finds something that gives back our sense of health, well being, and everything else that shines and sparkles!
We deserve it, dammnit.

Re: Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
hmmm...i can't remember how long it took for the Lyrica to start helping. i started w/ a lower dose..maybe 50 mgs..then made my way to 150 mgs. at the same time i was on gabepentin..about 2700 mgs. i noticed a different w/ 150 mgs. really helped..after awhile, i had a flare up so i went up to 300 mgs....i think that helped then i noticed i had gained weight..but, it could have easily been a result of me not working out and drinking more than usual. so..i am not just at 150 mgs. as you know, i have good times and not great times...but nothing like that horrific pain i had in the beginning. i sure hope it helps you. how many mgs are you on right now? I believe 450 is the max amount. I can't remember.

Re: Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
Im currently on 200mg been on that for about a week. Pain is still bad but its early days I guess
Im very dizzy and woozy but for a highly strung person like me its not such a negative thing lol feel like I start the day with a few shots of vodka!
Im going to the dr on tues to ask for 50mg pills as I dont think I can up it to 300mg just like that without swinging off the lamposts or something equally as nutty!
Im quite scared as the pain is so bad at the moment a real shitty flare up so am getting fears of it all getting worse rather than better...hence me stopping dilators as I cant cope with it right now
ARRGGGHHH fuck it!!
Re: Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
Funny you should say that Sebby, when the Lyrica wears off in between doses I feel like my pain is worse than it was before. I'm still really dizzy and woozy on it too, I thought it would pass but it hasn't and it's not great because I live out in the sticks so need to be able to drive safely. I actually like the sensation when I have nowhere to drive to but think I may have to skip tablets when I need to drive if it doesn't calm down. Have you tried drinking on it yet? I did and 2 glasses of wine had me trolleyed! (Obviously I'm not recommending drinking as the leaflet says not to but normally I have a high alcohol tolerance so thought I'd try it!) I'm not even up to 150mg yet, I've only made it to 100mg daily so far. I'm not sure if it's interacting with the 50mg Ami in my case, I'm going to ask the vulvar specialist when I go back next month.

Re: Gonna stop the dilators till im settled with the Pregabalin..
Havent tried drinking yet but I'll have a glass of wine tomorrow for an experiment! prepare for silly posts! lol
Yes I do like the woozey feeling but when it wears off the pain does feel worse! my pain is deff worse at the moment it was almost impossible to sit at work..dont bloody know how im gonna manage tomorrow. I have a cushion and I folded it over and sat on the edge which was better..
I really do think the lyrica is playing havoc with the nerves and they are all going mental! Im hoping this is a kind of worse before it gets better thing..certainly does prove to me in some sense that nerves do have a part to play in V even if the meds are making it worse at the moment!
I can't deny the use of the dilators last weekend has caused a bloody flare up..I over did it
Also the woozy feeling is worse during the morning til about 2pm and then it wears off..but when I take it in the evening the woozy feeling is not as strong! odd!
