Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Epiderm Cream
Has anyone been tried to try epiderm cream down there or to wash with E45 Wash?
Saw a dermatologist a week ago who told me to try using both! Think that would set off a case of thrush! Too scared to try anything anymore.

Re: Epiderm Cream
Also has anyone tried Trimovate cream? Its a steroid, anti fungal and anti bacterial. Been using for just over a week and definitely think it has helped slightly, can only use it for a maximum of two weeks as it is strong. Couldnt tolerate any of the Steroid oinments as they left me really sticky and i think there is something in the greasiness that i couldnt tolerate. The cream has worked alot better for me. Can actually put it on without it burning like hell and running up to wash it off.

Re: Epiderm Cream
I've tried stacks of creams and ointments, in fact in the beginning I was convinced it was a skin problem but I know better now. I use aqueous cream to wash with as it's a soap free alternative and I have to use a little bit of vaseline or something similar during the day to prevent the inflamed skin from rubbing one side on the other but nothing I've applied topically has made any difference to the situation. They say it's a deep inflammation in true vulvodynia so topical creams don't get to it whereas if it's a surface skin problem obviously they help.

Re: Epiderm Cream
I was trying vit E oil..wasnt 100% though had other oils in it DUH! silly me
I ended up red and inflammed. (well done sebby)
Aloe vera gel seems ok though. used it only a handful of times though so time will tell
Im too scared to put anything down there at the moment as having a horrible flare up so its just cool water for me.
I havent tried E45 for washing but it has been suggested. Im too scared as anything seems to set me off! Its a lot of experimentation with this condition!
Re: Epiderm Cream
Its so frustrating because i started getting a little better using nothing but water for about 2 months then i went to see a gyni who gave me yet another steroid cream which i just cant tolerate atall which made me swell again!
Ive just used aqueus cream to wash with just for a bit of moisture which feels kind of ok so far! We shall see! As for everything else i am too scared to try!
My doctor said that it has built up a sensitivity to anything and has gone on strike!
Think water is the way forward. It has been suggested that i might have allergic vaginitis from the tampon being left in but sure i will find out more from the vulval specialist in 2 weeks time.

Re: Epiderm Cream
I use Simple soap to wash and a bit of Vasline during the day to stop the rubbing. I just wish this would go away!

Re: Epiderm Cream
I've been using coconut oil this week. I don't usually get inflammation inside but hey ho why not join in the fun? I don't know what set it off. I don't tend to follow the no soap etc criteria because my pain is on the outside generally. Should be fun for physio this afternoon!

I went seabuckthorn crazy a couple weeks ago...
got the tea, the oral capsules, and oil
Well...the teas healthy all on its own...good for your skin, so hey maybe my hoo ha hurts but my skin can be flawless...lol
Anyways...just not really sure at the moment if topical things can be of help to us...maybe soothe the discomfort...but I dunno...worth a go I say, ...it could help you
