Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

My insurance might only cover 1-2 visits...

Wondering if I could give it a go on my own.

My ''Specilaist'' recommended Kegals? Dont even know what those are...werent they popular in the eighties??

Dont do kegals!! That is the worst thing you can do.

Heres one:

Contract for 5 seconds, relax for 10 (focus on relaxing not contracting) - feel the relaxation drop right down and do a couple of breaths of tummy breathing then contract again. If you contract first you get a better relax. Everyone is different though so I hope this doesn’t make you worse.

It's like Claire says it's difficult to say for sure because it depends what they find your pelvic floor is doing. My physio has me do 10 quick flicks with the emphasis on relaxing the muscles each time to get quick relaxation but it might not be suitable for you if your fast twitch fibres are weak, really depends what they find.

If you google kegels you'll find they are pelvic floor contractions and used to strengthen the muscles, I have to avoid doing them like Claire said except for a very small amount each day designed to gradually get the muscles stronger but then there's Sebby doing the Glazer protocol which involves huge amounts of kegels every day, really depends if you can relax the muscles ok so it's better not to do any of the exercises until you've been at least once and know what your PF is doing.
