Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Consultants appointment Vulva clinic
Hey Ladies,
I had a good result from my appointment yesterday. My consultant suggested a M. R. I. Scan of my pelvis and spine. He also said he would arrange physio, I have generalised unprovoked vulvodynia. He also said that sometimes women are never pain free from this but they can manage the pain with Medication so they can get on with there lives.
Great result but I will still follow my holistic approach and I WILL be pain free. I cannot allow the thought of never being pain free. At the moment I am doing good, wearing Jeans and Shorts..................................
Oh he said the problem could be coming from the spine, anyways we will see.

Re: Consultants appointment Vulva clinic
Good to see a doctor really taking this seriously and looking at various possibilities.
Also great to see your positive thinking. I too wonder if I will ever be pain free but like you am trying to say focused and tell myself that I could be pain free one day. To be honest even if I was 70-80% better I would be happy but oh to be pain free would be heaven!
Good to see you are able to wear jeans! I cannot think of that at the moment. Even on low pain days I think I am still too scared to even try incase if sets me off. Its funny cos I have tried sex again but am still scared of jeans lol
One day though I will buy a pair of jeans again, I will!!!
Good luck with the MRI and the treatment
Re: Consultants appointment Vulva clinic
Fantastic that you are wearing jeans. Both Saturday and Sunday I wore a pair. They were soft and didn't make too much pressure. Sitting in them is not pleasant.
Do you still have daily pain Ria? Or is yours just provoked.
I used my dilators for the first time in ages last night with my hubby doing trigger point work. Sometimes I just think messing with things down there set it off again. The pain afterwards was horrible. I always used to be in pain after physio appointments. I wonder if it is best to leave it alone, and perhaps that is why I had been doing so well!
Congrats on you appointment. I had an MRI of pelvis and back together with CT scan of both. Showed nothing. Generally I have found from talking to others that is the case with most people that have had the same thing done.
Glad someone is taking you seriously.
Claire

Re:consultants appointments vulva clnic
Hi Claire,
Pain all the time, although at the moment I am doing well, I take Neurotin and it seems to be helping. I think its worse when its constant because you never get a break from it , I also do the Biofeedback (H. G.)
Yoga helps me and I have started to do Prayer squats for 5 mins each day (look it up) it seems to open the pelvis and helps the nerve endings. Sometimes it is better to let things settle I know what you mean let them heal, Howard Glazer is great one for pushing and proding but I did it at my own pace. Hope things settle down for you love.
Take carexxx
