Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. UTI help please
Any of you ladies have any remedies for a UTI? I've suddenly developed one and naturally it happened after the chemists and doctors are all closed and I'm really suffering. I'm drinking loads of water and have added some bicarbonate of soda to a couple of the drinks so far but anyone got any more tips? I haven't got any cranberry in any form so that's not an option. I never used to get UTIs, I've had 2 in the last year and a half, one which set the V off and now this one. The water I'm drinking seems to be going nowhere, I'm on my 3rd pint in the last 2 hours and have only managed to pee dribbles so where the hell is it all going? Anything I can try to get me through the night would be gratefully received.

cranberry juice!
Cranberry juice!!!! It really works. But you have to flood yourself with it. They say not to drink the kind with sugar. But i always had too, because the sugarless was never around. Usually if it is a true uti, this works. in about a day. when i was younger and got these. This always worked. One time years ago when i was a waitress, I had a sharp side pain so bad. I couldnt walk. The boss told me to drink cranberry and in about an hour, that sharp pain was gone. Its worth a try if you can run to the store and get some. hope you feel BETTER!!!!!!!!!! cindy

U T I HELP PLEASE
I always use D-MANNOSE you can get it from the health shop. Just drink plenty of water to flush out the infection. Hot water bottle on the back always helps me. And perhaps in the morning try D-Mannose, the Doctor will put you on Antibiotics.
Look up D-Mannose see what you think. I hope you feel better soon sending hugs

Re: UTI help please
Just got back from the out of hours centre at the local hospital, got all shivery and aching much worse than usual in my back so I called them and they advised I go in. dip stick revealed a definite infection and blood in my urine and my temperature was high so I've got a week of antibiotics to take. It was so weird how it just happened with no warning and has got out of hand so quickly. The hospital were great and I was in, given a sample and prescribed tablets within 20 minutes. Thanks for the replies girls and I hope these tablets help my stinging urethra really quickly!!

Re: UTI help please
Well the antibiotics have stopped my stinging and peeing every few minutes thankfully, I still feel stiff and a bit shivery but I'm so glad they worked on the UTI symptoms quickly. I had visions of this being pelvic floor related and being given nothing to help and getting stuck with it permanently which really worried me. Thank god that dipstick showed a definite infection. Now I've just got to avoid the dreaded thrush...

Sarah are you taking probiotics? I had a UTI infection at the start of my V problems then I got a yeast infection because I had been on along course of Antibiotics. Since then 4 years on I always take Solgar Advanced Multi-billion Dophilusit one tablet a day.
Cheers
Ria glad you got it sorted

Re: UTI help please
Once the infection has gotten to the point of fever/chills and blood in the urine, you definitely need to go to the dr and I'm glad you did!! Definitely start up with probiotics asap and also you can take diflucan alongside antibiotics so that you avoid a yeast infection.
If you're prone to them and they cause or make your v. pain worse you should definitely either drink unsweetened cranberry juice regularly or take a cranberry supplement every day preventatively.
It can be kind of expensive but it's really easy (and best) to make your own cranberry juice if you can buy the berries (it's harder in the UK ) - just blend them, strain out the juice, and drink!
Good luck!

Re: UTI help please
I do take acidophilus and have done for years so that's covered but antibiotics always give me a yeast infection, I've got a Diflucan kicking about somewhere so I'll have that ready at the end of the antibiotics to take. I've ordered some cranberry capsules to take for a while, I don't want UTIs to become a regular thing! I'm pretty much back to normal now except I feel hot to the touch according to my hairdresser who cut my hair this morning so I'm getting there.
