Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Anyone w/Vulvodynia have anal fissures too?
I have had vulvodynia for 15 years now and for the past few years have had chronic anal fissures as well. I think the two are related, but have not found a doctor that can help. I was just curious to see if any of you have the same issues? I think it might have to do w/the pelvic floor muscles being too tight, including the anal area causing the tearing...thank for any info.

pain
Thanks for your reply. My pain is not referred, it is just at the site and throbs, burns, etc. These cuts I have are very deep tears. Docs want to cut my sphincter muscle to releive the muscle tension, but that has some risks and I dont want to risk incontinence at age 33. Sorry you are dealing with pain as well. Hope we can find some answers soon.

ooo dont let them do that. Your right. If something went wrong, you'd be stuck with that. You are way to young. cindy

Re: Anyone w/Vulvodynia have anal fissures too?
I had one years ago and I healed it using comfrey ointment on the skin and taking magnesium oxide to drastically soften stools so it didn't open up again. Get your pelvic floor checked out, anal fissures are yet another symptom of a tight pelvic floor and there could be trigger points keeping it all going.

Re: Anyone w/Vulvodynia have anal fissures too?
Hi Suz,
I also suffered from anal fissures for about two years. I thought it was because I wasn't drinking enough water, because I always ate lots of fibre in the form of bread. Only recently I've started to put a few things together and after finding about Vaginal PH imbalance adjusted my diet to try and resolve odour and discharge issue. I cut out all yeast, only eat wholegrains, brown rice, have reduced my potato intake and am eating lots of vegetables and fruit and lots of natural yoghurt. Since I changed my diet I have not had even close to a fissure. Even if I am a bit constipated or dehydrated I don't tear anymore.

YEP
I was actually in hospital last semester because of tears back there. I went to the emergency room 3 times due to bleeding. One doctor said it was a cut that got infected. The other did a cat scan and said a certain muscle is too tight and might need to be cut (which i don't think you can even tell from a cat scan) and the last one (anal surgeon) said she couldn't see anything.
Funny thing is that I still get blood and pain when I'm even a little constipated. Gotta love doctors huh?
Do you think this is related to V?

Re: Anyone w/Vulvodynia have anal fissures too?
I definitely think it's related to V, it's the pelvic floor that's too tight that tends to cause them. Skippypie the doctor who said a muscles is too tight is probably right and rather than have it cut it's a better idea to try and get it lengthened by a physio, that could be the source of your V.
