Finding it hard to deal with it..

I am new to the forum however I am really struggling to deal with how the vulydonia is making me feel.

I used to have a brilliant sex life with my partner and then suddenly sex became so painful, it would burn etc. After a while I plucked up the courage to go to the doctor and was told it was psychological and to give it a week or two and it would be fine...4 months later I was still experiencing the symptoms and returned to the doctor and that’s when I was referred to a gyno and finally was diagnosed with Vovlydonia at the age of 19. I have now been living with the pain for 2.5 years and I am still struggling to find what medication etc is good for me. Me and my partner are unable to have sex completely now, and I think it is due to me being scared of knowing it will hurt. My partner is being very supportive however I am struggling to come to terms with it and am scared I will be stuck with it for the rest of my life.

I don't know if anyone has nay success stories....

Hi, welcome to the forum. We all know how you feel and while the pain is there it's best to avoid sex anyway. I suggest having a womens health physio hook you up to a biofeedback machine and test your pelvic floor for tightness, painful sex usually results in spasmed pelvic floor muscles as does any type of vulvar pain. Some women find relaxing those tight muscles resolves their pain so it's worth every single woman with any type of V giving it a go. There are topical things that might help, have you tried lidocaine? Some women find that helpful, especially before sex. I totally empathise on the medication front, I'm now on Ami and Lyrica and still not getting much relief, i keep thinking they're just seeing how much medication I can take before my liver pops. Definitely get your pelvic floor tested though.
