Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

HI EVERYONE THANKS FOR HAVING ME !!
Hi my name is Joanne, I'm 23 and I was diagnosed with vulvodynia about 9 months ago. Before that I've been to various gynos and a dermatologist and they had all come up with various diagnosis including recurrent thrush !! !! When I was finally diagnosed I was put straight on an old form of anti ds and a steriod cream of some discription. The cream didnt work and the only thing the anti ds did was make it harder to get up in the morning. I had already been on 100mg of Zoloft to treat my depression and I really wanted to get off them, so the last thing I wanted to do was go on another lot. Needless to say I discontinued both these treatments and have been going it alone.
I have never experienced pain free sex before. I can't even insert a tampon, and when it was time for a pap smear to test it took about 3 attempts for it to actually happen !! it took a sleeping pill and my partner of 6 years to stand beside me and hold my hand for the test to actually happen !! It felt like something was pinching right up inside me and I thought I was going to die. When I told the gyno she said that feeling occures when the muscles arnt relaxed. And do you think I can get a penis inside me?? no way !! My bf and I are in a really bad way!! He doesnt want sex anymore and although he doesnt say anything I think it because he's frustrated cos I keep on wanting to stop because of the pain. Ben and I are each others first sexual partners.
My pain is a burning one which occures all around and in the the vulva and increases during intercourse, urnination and further more increases during my period. I solved the last one by skipping the white pills on my contraceptive pill (always a contriversal subject) and only letting myself get my period every few months or so. The other two I seem to have huge issues with. I have been experimenting with the food I eat and what I drink and it appears that foods and drinks which contain large amounts of sugar increase the pain, foods with large amounts of salt, tomato, red food and drink and strawberries and citrus fruits (anything thats acidic). If I am well hydrated and drink 8 glassses of water a day the symptoms won't be as bad. And just after I do some exercise the pain won't be there AT ALL whilst urinating.
If anyone could give me some drug free tips for reducing this or you have similar symptoms to mine I would really love to hear from you.

Re: HI EVERYONE THANKS FOR HAVING ME !!
Hi Joanne, your story is quite a familiar one to this site. As well as cutting out certain foods and drinks you could add calcium citrate to see if that helps, that's based on oxalates being a problem. To me though it sounds very much like your smear test experience has given you the answer and you need to start getting help from a Women's Health Physio to sort out those pelvic floor muscles. A tight PF can cause V and keep it going so it's vital you get going on that. You need to see one who has access to a biofeedback machine so you can see what the muscles are doing and get used to the feeling of relaxing them. Good luck and keep us informed.

pain free this is what I have been doing
Hello Everyone,
Its been a while since I have been on the site, the reason for this is that I have been trying to get better and now I want you all to know what I have been doing to be pain free from vulvodynia.
Please look at my past posts to see how bad I was and the different doctors and specialists I have seen. Well I have been following the advice from Dr Robert Morse you can look him up on you tube, he advises a detoxification programme. I have followed a grape juice fast and have turned my eating to raw food I know you are thinking oh noooo I did but I have never felt so well, I am pain free take no medication at all, I cannot believe it.
Dr Morse is a Naturopathic doctor who helps people with all kinds of problems. I waited until the pain had completely gone before sending this it worked for me.
I know all of you can feel the same way good luck
Ria
