    Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

    Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

    Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

    MonaLisa Touch

    Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

    Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

    Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

    So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

    Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

    Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Has anyone here ever used Instillagel?

I was given a bacth a few months ago from my GP, but I've not used it yet as my boyfriend doesn't like the idea of trying any sex before I'm better. But I've badgered him about it again today and have just said that it's something else I've been given to try, that's been successful for lots of other people, and if we've already got some we may aswell try, especially if it means we can have sex!!!

So I guess I was just wondering if anyone else has tried it, and what your experiences of it were?

I've been told to just squirt a tiny bit on my finger (it comes in massive syringes!), smooth it around my vestibule, leave it 15 minutes, then wash it off in the shower (so he doesn't get numb from it too!) and then go for it.

She said it should las around an hour, at the most I think. And I know I'll sound like I want to have my cake and eat it too, but that's not long enough! Haha. That's including the 15 minute wash off period too. And I'm just scared that it'll wear off during and I'll die a death of pain!

But my main reason for writing this is just because I wanted to know if it's worked for anyone? I can't even imagine what it's like now to have sex and it not hurt, so it's quite an exciting prospect, but I know not to get my hopes up.

For me it really is just the vestibule that hurts. Something going in/coming out or being turned inside hurts like hell, but actually inside feels perfectly normal so it does kinda make sense that just numbing the opening will make me pain free, whilst still not affecting and pleasure bits!

Any other advice on dryness would be nice too, haha! One of the things my boyfriend says is that I don't get as wet as I used to whenever we do other stuff. I can see why that would be the case, but at the same time I think that's me not the condition. I think I'm subconsciously so nervous worrying about what he's doing/going to do and waiting for the pain to start that that stops me getting as wet as usual, so I guess this gel would help.

But if there's any tips on that issue, let me know! Obviously lubricant's are always an option, but having to stop and squirt some on every few minutes isn't too nice haha.

That's it, the end of the essay! If anyone made it this far, thank you!!

Hiya! A few of us had a bit of a chat about instillagel recently here: http://www.vulvodyniasupportforum.com/t670-lidocaine-beginner-question#4425

As you can see it can help! Way back in the day I used something called xylocaine, which had the same basic ingredients, and that definitely helped with penetrative sex. As for lube I find sylk really good, it doesn't irritate me at all.

Hope it works out for you x

Hi Jemima, I noticed that you said you were dryer than normal and that your pain is specifically at the entrance to your vagina. I just wrote a post about the possibilities of the pill causing pain and wondered if your pain started on or around the time you went on the pill? I have both the problems you mentioned, and I know that certain pills can affect free tesosterone levels (free, not just normal testosterone) which can cause pain specifically at the entrance. So yeah here is the link if you think this might apply to you! Even if it wasn't the pill, your levels may be low anyway causing the pain to be specifically there? I have no idea obviously, but thinking about all possibilites and getting tested for everything can only help! There are specific things that need to be tested and then a calculation is made from the results to figure out free tesosterone, it is all in the book that I reccommend on the post (which btw, has been a life saver for me!)

    Good luck Smile
