Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Let me count the ways
I'm in the UK and have just searched for that book but it is coming up as £75 new or from £35 used! Why is it so expensive?? I was really hoping it was available for my kindle so i could read it wherever i went but it isn't
I did purchase some dilators online last night so excited for them arriving, i have a massive booklet thing given to me by my psychologist too about relaxation techniques but i find it hard to find the time in the day to stop and practice them, plus i told her I would do the relaxation techniques she recommended and would try to have sex with my husband once a week between my appts and so far we've managed once in a month, plus i numbed myself to nothingness with my lidocaine cream that time so it wasn't even like sex!!
I do have some little vibrators of my own from a while ago that i never hardly used but they are all a bit small to be any use i think, surely the fact i can use tampons pain free is a sign i can get better if i just get used to sex again maybe. It's that worry in my head that 'this is going to hurt' that i can't switch off. So f'ing annoying when you have gone from having sex as a normal person then being lazy and not having it that much cos you can't be bothered or life gets in the way and you never make time to then not being able to have it hardly ever as you get this stupid condition. I am going to be like that famous person (i can't remember who) who on their deathbed said 'i wish i'd had more sex'. How can this just spring up on you for no known reason, seriously p's me off!
I do think confidence in myself is part of the prob too though so thought this book sounded like a good opportunity to help myself! Anyone know where to find it cheaper in the UK or bored enough to want to scan their copy in and email it to me lol (i don't expect anyone to do that!!)?

Re: Let me count the ways
Hannah,
Use your vibrator for clit stim and don't worry about penetration for now. Concentrate on getting your sexuality back and "use" the area for good =) On Sebby's post re Dr Glazer he talks about stimulating and getting blood flow to your girl bits. I know it's hard to want to touch anything but if you're bringing sexy back you have to start somewhere. Doing it by yourself and finding out what your boundaries are would be really helpful for when you let hubby touch it
Hahhaa I have another song! Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all... sorry it's a diva but I think we need one.

Re: Let me count the ways
http://www.vulvodyniasupportforum.com/t278-sex-toys-etc - this is the link to the post with the stuff Dr Glazer recommended. Yes a lot of it is not cheap!
I got the let me count the ways book from Amazon, had to get is shipped from US so was just under £50 in the end. Its a good book which actually challenges the thinking that normal sex is all about intercourse. Well it isnt and as Mouse said get stimulating your clit with and without the hubby.
The Magic Wand vibrator is hard to get in the UK, gonna try Amazon again and see if my order goes through.
Forget about intercourse for the moment and get enjoying the other stuff or outercourse as the book calls it!
I have to have 3 orgasms a week...its part of the treatment lol Im managing to use the internal vaginal sensor for the biofeedback with little pain so am seeing that as a good sign.
Re: Let me count the ways
Sebby, what about the Mystic Wand? That gets rav reviews, I've already started my letter to Santa.
BTW who comes up with these names? I would think something of biblical proportions.
When I was pregnant with the youngest I told the midwife I had a potty mouth and not to be too shocked during the labour. My street cred went right out the window when "Oh god" came out .... about 900 times!
