Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hi ladies,

My doctor swabbed my affected areas last week and I went back to see him yesterday expexcting to undergo a nerve bock...well no nerve block for me, for the first time in 2 and a half years of having this horrible condition I tested positive for candida!! Yuck yuck yuck...It makes me feel so gross!

Now, here's the thing, about 2 years ago I took Fluconazole every day for 6 weeks. It did nothing. Mind you my chronic gastritis was at its worst and I was vomiting almost every day so maybe it did not absorb properly? Or maybe it is a chronic candida that is fluconazole resistant? My doctor said it could be the cause of my problem but I could also have just picked up a yeast infection on top of vulvodynia. Too early to say at this point. but my symptoms have stayed the same the whole time. Constant itching and vestibule burning with swelling, redness/inflammation but no internal symptoms.

Course of treatment? 1 fluconazole this week and one next week. Then for the supposed vulvodynia I have to shove a valium up there once at night for 2 weeks before I go back to see him then go from there, he does not want to do a nerve block anytime soon now that this has shown.

I took a fluconazole yesterday afternoon and today I have had what looks like nasty yeast spores coming out through my pores down there! So so so so disgusting!!

I need any advice I can get on this matter. Could my issue have been yeast this whole time despite even biopsies coming back negative and having over 30 swab tests done? If so why would it only have shown now? And if it is fluconazole resistant what the hell am I supposed to do to treat it? I have a relatively good diet, no gluten and minimal sugar due to the chronic gastritis.

Or is it just something I have picked up along the way?

Any help or advice would be so appreciated!

I don't believe all these "negative" tests anymore. There is obviously something wrong that they cant detect.

Best stuff I've found for yeast

1) Boric Acid with coconut oil. I take an applicator like you would get with over the counter yeast meds and fill it with mostly coconut oil (clinically shown to kill yeast) and layer it with a dusting of boric acid. All the info on boric acid says 600 mg for a suppository, but I think this is waaaaay too irritating four our sensitive lady parts. I do about four layers, coconut oil/boric acid. Works like a charm every time. There is a little irritation in the morning from the boric acid but its minimal and is gone by noon.

2) Tea tree oil suppositories. You can get these at whole foods usually

3) over the counter stuff and oral stuff from doc. Thumbs down. Yeast is resilient and all of mine could care less about these interventions.

I hope this helps :-)

Thankyou so much for your reply. Much appreciated Smile have taken 3 oral fluconazole for 3 weeks and in that time I have found I am allergic to it! I have been so so sick vomiting from it and extreme nausea and dry reaching! It has reduced the inflammation of the vulva but I am still itching and burning and can see traces of yeast spores (disgusting! )

I have heard about boric acid being very effective, but as you said, it is a product you have to be careful with, so I am a bit scared to try it to be honest. But everyone says it's good stuff and it works! If I test positive again I will be asking my doctor about it And if you have to put the boric acid inside you how does it fix the external vulva yeast effectively? It will be very interesting to see if I test positive again after taking that horrible fluconazole!

I have never heard of tea tree suppositories, how do they work?

I use a product called Ph-D Feminine Hygiene Support. I order from Amazon. It is 600mg boric acid suppository. I have used the whole thing with little irritation, I'm just scared now to use anything. I break open the capsule and use the about 1/3 of the powder within. The coconut oil really helps to sooth any issues that might arise. I am not sure about the outside yeast, I guess I am not familiar with this issue. Maybe that's what I have. I have been on multiple antibiotics and metrogel for BV which I think has left me with all kinds of yeasty business. I just now figured out that you can have a yeast infection without that cottage cheese discharge.

As far as the tea tree oil suppositories. You can get them on amazon as well. Its just a little tea tree oil in some kind of glycerin. I find them very soothing. Its kind of a eucalyptus feel. I don't think they are as effective as boric acid.

CANDIDA! Advice please! Empty Re: CANDIDA! Advice please!

Post  sailor_moon Sun Sep 06, 2015 10:42 am

Thanks for your reply ladies,

I am not having much luck, my symptoms decreased until the fluconazole left my system, my redness and discomfort decreased [especially the redness!I was the most normal I have looked in 2 years] , but now that the drug is fully out of my body I am inflammed again! :'( I just want to cry as the redness/inflammation apprearance really upsets me.

It is so so so disgusting but when I took the first tablet it literally looked like white spore balls and a cloudy/liquidy white discharge coming through my vulva skin and out of my vagina. Then I took the second pill and it had a similar effect, not a severe as the first time round. then I got my period and was wearing pads so I figured I'd take a 3rd pill for good measure...now the fluconazole is out and my symptoms are right up Sad

I live in australia so unfortunately I do not have access to the Femdophilus and other products as suggested above.

I am currently taking Garlic Oil capsules, Raw Apple cider vinegar, a combo tumeric and aloe vera powder [which was mainly for my chronic gastritis,] Lactobacillus and Boulardi Probiotics, and I am following a gluten free, dairy free, sugar free diet.

I am currently weaning myself off Lyrica/Pregabalin as I don't think it has helped me at all, all it has done is make me put on a few kilos and make me drowsy and even more fatigued than usual.

This is seriously depressing...I feel as though I am not getting anywhere. The past 3 days i have had a severe flare up, extreme burning, lots of liquidy/jelly like cloudy discharge and it feels like it burns my skin.

I have had this condition since I was 25...I'm almost 28...the best years of my life have been wasted. I was meant to have had great holidays and a baby by now...but no, this hell of a condition has come along and f*cked up my whole life instead. I have chronic gastritis on top of it which also started 2 months after my V symptoms began...Vomiting almost every day, constantly nauseated and fatigued, constant reflux. i have no life, I struggle to work [which is so stressful as I dont have a very nice work environment] but I have to to try and keep my mortgage secure, and try to maintain my marriage with my husband :'(

My doctor wants me to try Valium up the vag but if I have yeast I am not comfortable shoving foreign products up me!

I dont see him for another 3 weeks yet, and when I do I will need him to test me again for yeast to see if it is still present, if it is, I will finally know what I'm dealing with. If not it's back to square 1...I don't know what I will do then....
