New here/Advice about life with vulvodynia

Mon Sep 08, 2014 4:06 pm by blueberryrabbit

I haven't been on a website forum in years, but this is probably the only way I can really talk about this.

I'm 23, and I've had vulvodynia/vestibular pain/pelvic floor dysfunction since I was 15 (I've probably had it for much longer than that and don't really remember). I also have PTSD from being in a sexually and emotionally violent relationship for 5 years. I can have sex, but not without …

Hi I am a newbie glad to join your site can already see it going to be much help.
I am 52 years old going through menopause. This has been going on for close to 3 years. It all started when my periods began to be irregular and for the first time in my life I came down with a UTI which was treated with antibiotics but I started to experience frequent urination and burning thereafter not all the …

Any chance this could be something other than vulvodynia?

Wed Aug 20, 2014 6:45 am by mythreesons

I'm 45 and was diagnosed with vulvodynia 2 years ago. I was put on amitriptyline and vagifem and got the symptoms pretty much under control for almost 2 years, with just minor flare-ups whenever I'd have to wear a pad during my period. I weaned myself off the vagifem after the first 6 months and still didn't have a flare-up. Then in mid-June of this year, I started getting vulvar inflammation …

New and no longer in pain, but struggling to orgasm

Tue Aug 19, 2014 6:30 pm by bearferret

Hi I had Vulvadinia for three years, had no help from my doctor so I self referred myself to the Sexual Health Clinic, the young Dr was wonderful, he prescribed Amitryptilin and I was on it for three months, now I have no pain.

I have come off the tablets, (that was difficult, as I wasnt aware how addictive they were), but tablets stopped and sex is great again, the only problem I now have is …

I've bee recently diagnosted with vulvodynia. I had my first UTI and that was probably the trigger for me. I started using estrace topical cream and at first it didn't help at all. After few weeks i actually had one month with no pain or burning. I almost forgot that i have a "problem". The lastfew days the burning is back on and off, maybe not as bad as before. I don't know if i should …

New to forum but not new to vulvodynia

Thu Aug 14, 2014 3:31 pm by Nelliewelly

New to forum. Based in UK (south east). Just come from another gynae appointment- you have to laugh or you'd cry. Gynae suggested injections to turn off ovaries then hysterectomy. I am 40 and had 2 major vulvodynia flares lasting months-years since I was 20. This is third flare caused by a dreadful routine cervical smear by professional nurse (?!?!) in December 2013. I try to stay positive, …

Has anyone tried Fusidic acid-hydrocortisone cream?

Thu Aug 14, 2014 9:35 pm by yoginimom

i'm always scared to try a new prescription in case it makes it worse. Has anyone tried this and had success?

Also does your skin feel like a raw chemical type burn pain? And what do you do that helps ease the skin sensitivity?

I've tried coconut oil, and that can be helpful at time. But sometimes nothing works.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hi all,  I love you
I'm new here!
I'm a junior in college and was recently diagnosed with VVS. I had been taking birth control for the past year and 2 months before getting diagnosed, since it was the only thing that worked for my skin. Of course, I'm one of those people who hates hates hates blood, so I would always skip the sugar pills and start a new pack.
I got a yeast infection once, and …
