Treatment Options / Surgery

Mon Jan 26, 2015 10:21 pm by vldicker

I am so happy to have found this forum. I have been suffering with vulvodyina for years…diagnosed when I was 22 and now am 25 but suffered long before the diagnosis. Over the past years it would only flare up for maybe a few days and then wouldn't bother me at all for a long time. My doctor put me on antidepressants and lidocain gel which did nothing to stop the random flare up so I stopped …

New member looking for self-care and treatment ideas

Fri Jan 16, 2015 3:12 am by Millie

I am 25 years old and have been suffering from provoked Vulvodynia (Vestibulodynia) for the past year.

About 2 years ago I changed my contraceptive pill from Microgynon to Mercilon because I was experiencing side effects such as nausea and vomiting, however the side effects of Mercilon were much worse and I believe the main cause of all the problems I have experienced over the past two …

Does anyone else test the ph of their urine?

Sun Jul 22, 2012 1:34 am by Rainy Day

Just wondering if everyone else has acidic urine too? Wondering if that is part of the puzzle? I have a urine ph of 5.75 in the morning and then 6.0 before bed. It never gets close to 7 in morn or at night.

Hi everyone-
I have been struggling with my diagnosis of vulvodynia since February of this year, but problems have been going on for a long time. I was on the pill after I lost my virginity due to a pregnancy scare when I was about to turn 19, which was over two years ago now, and since then I have experienced pain while having sex. My boyfriend at the time and I ended up breaking up, and I …

Vulvodynia nerve pain after having baby

Wed Dec 10, 2014 7:33 am by ethome

I recently had my second baby 7 months ago and since then I have had pain at the site where I tore and just inside my vagina. It only really hurt if pressure was applied but I have recently had a steroid and anesthetic injection into the vagina area to help treat this. This has made things so much worse as now I have pain all the time. It throbs and burns constantly. I went back to the gynae who …

Mon Dec 15, 2014 8:17 am by Justin777

Hi girls I recently discovered 'Vulvodynia' last month. How I came across it is ironic. In June of this year 2014 I took a hair loss pill called propecia. Pill designed to stop my hair from falling out. One month in I discovered that my private would struggle to stay turned on. Also orgasm lost feeling. Private has become pretty numb. Very upset over this. They have a website for the few guys who …

New to vulvodynia and searching for solutions

Sun Dec 07, 2014 11:39 am by justbecca28

I am 30 and was just diagnosed with vulvodynia about 6 months ago. Since the first time I had sex, when I was 16, I knew there was something wrong. My bf at the time couldn't even penetrate, and when he finally did, the pain was unbearable. To this day I have never had sex without pain. I didn't even understand that what I was experiencing was not normal until I was probably 20. I thought to …

I attended a Vulvodynia study day at my local hospital recently and was informed about a low oxalate diet that helps ease vulval pain. Anyone tried and tested this? And does it actually work??

Sun Nov 16, 2014 5:58 am by Mary1000

Was wondering if anyone has ever had ipl/lazer hair removal on their bikini line before?

Or if you know if it would effect my vulvadynia.

I'm not in acute stage of it like I was last year. The constant pain stopped from seeing a physio and many other things like coconut oil.also breaking up with my boyfriend so not having sex which caused a lot of emotions as wasn't able too. Still …
