    Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

    So, I've been quite aware recently that at times my perineum can be pretty sore/sensitive. I'm not sure how much it contributes to my sexual pain, but I've noticed it while showering, and have been trying to massage it out a bit. Today it was super sensitive, a bit like touching a paper cut, and I had a look (I'm terrible with self-exams so am very unfamiliar with my 'down there'). Anyway, there's a definite tear-like thing, and I don't really know what to do about it. My 'massaging out the soreness' plan doesn't seem so wise any more. Do any of you ladies get this kind of thing? I'm hesitant to put any cream on it, since I'm being super strict about avoiding all chemicals down there. I tried some lidocaine, and it just stung as you would expect (it was that which persuaded me the tear-like thing was definitely a tear!). Any ideas?
