Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

    Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

    Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

    Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

    Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

    Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

    Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

    So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

    Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Just a thought- has anyone tried using marijuana for medicinal purposes to deal with the chronic pain? I smoked a bit during my uni days, and I had my fist orgasm during penetrative sex while stoned, probably because it relaxed me enough to get there- so thinking maybe that might help now that I'm unable to have sex at all, to relax and to deal with the pain...

    Thanks Sebby

So how long have you had this condition for?
I have had it over 3 years now Sad I recently have been taking Acid Redux tablets which balances your PH level and also drinking oxygen water which has helped a bit..... my parents bless them bought a whole distilled water kit so you can make you're own water then you just add the oxygen drops to it.
Before all this I tried the tablets from the doctors and all that but it only suppresses the symptoms. I have to say the burning has gone but I have more of the pain in the anus at the mo and lower back maybe this is what happens before it completely goes.... I HOPE!
I really want that this water helps and I have also been having spiritual healing which all heals too if you believe in that type of thing Smile I want to HELP as many women as possible with this horrible condition because it dos ruin you're life.

    Hi nadja

I have had this for 2 years now. Drs first thought it was thrush and so did I! Then both the GP and Gynea did a swab and examination for infections but I didnt have infection.

Then they thought it was a skin irritation and was sent to a stupid dermo dr who would not even examine me and just told me to use Dermol Lotion, which didnt help

Then I was put on two hormone contraceptive pills as they thought it was my hormones. That didnt work.

I asked to be refered to pain clinic and have been given a general nerve block injection which didnt work! my still try the pedundal nerve one (if I have spelled that right!)

Now am gonna try the pelvic floor thing...

Am glad to meet so many women who understand what I am going through Smile

    Marijuana Empty helps me

Post  flowersandcobras Sat Jul 30, 2011 12:33 am

i saw this forum on a search for this specific topic and thought i'd join in! marijuana is one thing that helps me very much. it helps me relax and not focus on pain so much--during sex or just hanging out. it actually makes a big, positive difference for me. i'd say if you've reached orgasm after smoking, you might be one who is able to relax with marijuana (instead of, say, getting paranoid). hope this helps!

    Marijuana Empty Helps me

Post  Aussie Mon Aug 01, 2011 5:31 am

I don't feel a thing when smoking. Although, a side effect it relaxes my knees a little too much and they like to pop out sometimes. So I also avoid walking too much when smoking. I think it relaxes my body as a whole thus relaxing the pelvic floor.

Gives me the same pain relief as alcohol without the bladder repercussions the next day. I try not to make a habit though....I like my brain 

I haven't smoked weed for a long time, but I did a few days ago to take away the pain. It worked wonders, but its one thing that can get addictive and is just giving you more health problems. But now and again I see no harm.

Hi Im actually a psych student and I just had to put in a few words from studies on drugs. Marijuana is not as horrible and addictive as everyone is lead to believe, in fact it is better for you (physically not legally in many places) to use marijuana as pain relief than a shot of whiskey. there is currently very little research to support a theory of built up tolerance, no evidence to support physical withdrawal (there is sometimes a psychological withdrawal - thinking you want one rather than your body acting all weird cause you havent had one), and there is no evidence to suggest that the memory and learning impairments persist after discontinuation of use. In fact the worst problem associated to marijuana smoking is that it causes lung problems, in the same way cigeratte smoking does. On top of this, there have been no deaths linked to marijuana as of yet,(there are of course many linked to a combination of marijuana and alcohol), while you can die from the withdrawals of prolonged alcohol use, let alone the alcohol itself. I myself am a non-smoker, non-drinker and only use drugs that are prescribed to me so this is in no way an arguement for marijuana, only infomation to help those who may feel they need to turn to something like this in order to deal with the pain.

As for Marijuana's therapeutic effects, it had been proven to reduce nausea where other antinausea agents fail (kring et. al. 2010), is used as treatment for the discomfort of AIDS, and is apparently suggested by doctors in california to help cope with pain and nausea.

Never dabbled with Marijuana, but I would take it if takes the bloody thing away. When you think of the Meds we take if we could get pure Marijuana it may help, on some forums they swear by it for pain, it makes them feel so much better.
MS patients get relief from it. I watched a programme in America where they have doctors who prescribe it for patients, so there maybe something in it.

Wouldnt know where to get it anyway so I will stick with my drug dealer doctor and the Gabapentin. Smile Smile

I, for a few years, have advocated the use of greens as a remedy for common ailments. Since V burst into my life I have smoked at nights to help ease discomfort and anxiety. It has definitely helped. But I am also very accustomed to it's effects and have a tolerance. Marijuana is often too much for many. Worth a shot though!

I smoke but have never really noticed any relief from it unfortunately. I do quite regularly consider the fact that it could or might help though, and perhaps I've just never really tried to notice any relief.

I might give it some extra thought over the next couple of weeks and do some research of my own, see how I get on!
