Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hi All,
I haven posted very much in this forum yet, but I've been reading your posts all the time.
I'm 25 years old, and I've been suffering from vulvodynia since spring 2009. I had a new boyfriend at that time and everything was all right in the beginning. But after about 6 months I started to experience pain while having sex. My gyno couldn't find anything. But the pain got worse and about 4 weeks later the pain was there all the time. There were two spots in my vagina that hurt the most, aber actually the pain was everywhere. The skin was red and swollen. I was really going crazy, but the doctor sill claimed that there was nothing. About 2 months later I couldn't take the pain any longer and went to my mothers gyno. He looked at the area for about 5 seconds, put some acetic acid on the skin (a test to see if the skin is hpv infected) and stated that my skin was infected with HPV. I always thought HPV meant warts oder cervical dysplasia but he explained to me, that there were some types of this virus that caused only very slightly skin changes but can cause nevertheless really bad pain. I treated the infection with Aldara. The infection went away and so did the worst part of the pain. But what was left, was vulvodynia, and that was still really bad.
I've been fighting this vulvodynia for approx 5 years now and I've finally found a way to deal with it:
Maybe some of you can also benefit from my methods, so I'm writing them down here:

-antidepressants: please don't give up. I've tried amitryptilin, carbamazepin, duloxetin (cymbalta) and gabapentin and they all didn't work for me. But finally I tried Imipramin, and the it really got better! I take 50 mg in the morning and 25 mg in die evening.

-working with dilatators: I couldn't believe it would change anything, but I read about that here and thought, I'd give it a try. Working with dilatators has taken away another part of the pain.

-Ending Female Pain (Isa Herrera): this book is really great. It's the best book on this topic I've read so far, and I can really recommend it!

-I don't believe in homeopathic therapie at all but what really worked for me to regenerate and soften my vaginal skin were rose capsules, that you can insert in your vagina. I don't know if and how you can purchase them in other countries (I'm from Germany). They are made of (amongst others) rose oil and geranium oil, retinol palmitate, mother tinctures of lady's mantle, calendula, dead-nettle and colloidal silver D5. If your are interested please mail me, I can send you instructions how to make them yourself.

I also want to recommend the website http://www.earthclinic.com/, if you want to try alternative medicine (I never believed in alternative medicine, but I was so desperate, that I gave it a try.....and it was worth it!)

I've started doing sports for 1 hour a day, changed my diet an started eating lots of fruit and vegetables. I also take some vitamine pills.
My pain has gone down from about 8 to 1, and I'm so grateful!!!
Please stay strong!!!

Hi I'm new to this group. I have been struggle with this for over a year now. I really doubt you have HPV. High risk HPV can be tested for. There is not a good test for low risk. But if you have it it will grow warts. The doctor can usually see it and confirm with a biopsy. I'm worried about HPV too. The skin on my labia minora was not smooth after a couple yeast and bacteria infections. Just like you, a doctor said I had warts because she applied acid on it and it turned white. Since then I have been to so many different doctors tried to confirm the result. They all said it's not warts. I did the acid test 5 five times in the past, sometimes it did turn white, but the doctors still said no warts. I now know that the acid test is not an accurate test for HPV, there are a lot of false positive especially if you have a BV or yeast infection. Finally I had biopsy done this month to rule out of warts. Although the test was negative, I am still worried because my condition never got better, it only got worst because I have pain now. I know I have vulvodynia now but I'm still a little skeptical about HPV. What medicine did you use for your HPV, is it work? Are you pain-free now?
