Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:55 pm by flissyg

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Hi everyone,

On Wednesday I went to see a woman’s health physio with a difference. She gave me a zinc taste test and said that every vulvodynia patient of hers is zinc deficient Something to do with the way the stomach works without zinc causes something with stomach acid, which causes bloating ibs etc it also makes you prone to infections and irritates the mucosa of the vulva. I may have got that competely wrong there was a lot of info in our session.

She has given me the following:

Zinc Drink ¼ tsp OR 1mL in water at night after food

SPIP – 2 every hour for 3 hours before sex and for 1 hour after (stops burning)

MP 65 – 2 every 10 minutes for 2 hours before sex (relaxes muscles)

She said the latter two should make a difference straight away if they are going to work. The zinc will take longer. It's interesting she picked things up in my pathology that doctors completely ignored and classed as 'normal'

She has treated a lot of women with v and the reason she stopped doing physio alone was because she was helping some why others still has pain and irritation. It was then that she looked in to the naturopathy side of things and said combining the two really helps. She said my muscles are great now the tension is so mild. She said the problem she feels is in the mucosa.

I will let you know how I go with the supplements.

I don't really understand as it was my first visit but thought you would all be interested.

That's interesting, I have IBS strongly linked with my vulvodynia also. Basically most forms of carbs cause me digestive upset, pains in abdomen, and itchy vulva. Before vulvodynia I could eat whatever I wanted. According to the doctor my vitamin and levels are normal also, so do let us know how this goes!

That's really interesting! I'd definitely love to hear more. Can you tell me what those last two things are (SPIP and MP)? Maybe I'm just dense and you explained it but it would be great to know!
Keep sharing!

Nauturapath, Womens Health Physio and Herbalist Empty Has anyone used Milk Thistle before?

Post  Lea Sun Jun 26, 2011 2:55 pm

Hello all,

Has anyone used milk thistle before as a liver support? I've been on a lot of prescription & otc meds in the past year thanks to vulvodynia and feel like my body has been through the ringer & back. I notice that my V symptoms have been worse when I was on a combination of meds or did 1 treatment after another. I have read that milk thistle is supposed to help cleanse the liver, but that it may have adverse side effects if used in combo with other medications. My MD knows nothing about this (of course). Has anyone had luck or negative results when using milk thistle or other natural products/remedies?

Thanks!

Lea

I'm happy to try anything at this point! What brands of magnesium phosophate were you suggested to use?

I take Milk Thistle Lea but hadn't heard about any interactions, I've taken it for years but it doesn't help my V. I've tried every supplement I've come across online to help with my V but none of them have. I take the Milk Thistle because I take alot of medication and also drink so I like to give my liver some help.

blackmoors professional range. Most chemists or health food shops wont give it to you without a script from your practitioner though.
