Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. Hello, I have just been diagnosed with unprovoked vulvodynia. Im really scared and worried. It burns a lot and it hurts to sit down. I have been prescribed amitriptyle 10mg. Can anyone give me some hope that I can get better from this condition. Feeling low and depressed.

My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I'm new to this forum, so I suppose I should out with my story as well.
I developed vulvodynia almost 4 years ago, while I was still dating my ex boyfriend. The first several times I visited doctors, I was told it was thrush, or a variety of stds, or the classic, it was all in my head. Meanwhile my boyfriend was convinced that I was withholding sex to punish him. (I never found out what for) I eventually got a referral to a gyno who quickly determined that I had vestibulodynia and chronic eczema. I was given hormone treatment and local anesthetic, but neither helped. I don't feel any doctor ever took my concerns or treatment seriously and besides being tortured by the condition, I began to worry that it was all in my head. I finally left my boyfriend after three years and started seeing a new guy. I have told him about the condition and the problems I had in my last relationship and he was very acceptive and supportive.
I found that sex with him didn't hurt but for the past two weeks, after we have been sleeping together for about a month, I have started having mild, but worsening pain. I'm completely devastated and terrified that the pain will come back and ruin the relationship. But I'm equally afraid to go to the doctor. I don't feel I can handle another year of running between doctors and I am petrified that, because the pain was gone for those few weeks, the doctor will say that it must just be in my head and stop treatment.
My boyfriend and I had sex yesterday and I still have a burning sensation between my legs.
I feel like I'm angry all the time because I basically had my sexuality taken away at 19 and I feel completely cheated. And I am really worried that it is in my head. I did have a bad sexual experience when I was 18 and I'm scared that that's what it's all about, because I don't know what to do if that is the case.
I really need support right now.
