Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. Found relief after more than 15 years of pain!
I have not been active in this forum since I wanted to clear my head and not think about vulvodynia at all. But I want to share with all of you how I came to be pain free (not 100% yet but I know someday I will be). I had been suffering this horrible pain for more that 15 years and been diagnosed almost 10 years ago. Have been to so many doctors that I can not even count and been treated to so many different kinds of treatments. I was at my worst in 2016 when I started seeing this particular doctor from Phoenix who said specializes in vulvar pain. Was in treatment for a year which to me made it worst to the point that was super depressed and that I dont even want to go out the house coz the pain was just horrible even to go for a walk. The pain was mixed, burning, itching, needle prick, knife stabbing. So I decided to stop treatment and dropped all medication. I got pregnant in 2017 and the pain was bearable. Gave birth on 2018 and the pain was back to being bad but not as bad as what I experience in 2016. Urination was hard, it burned all the time. As you all know, after having a baby, you have to wear pads since you will be bleeding for weeks or months... I was not wearing pads at all because the pain bothered me. I was just in bed and put a mat under me so I dont have to wear pads. I just wear them if i really have to leave the house other than that, I was underwear free and blood would just drip on the floor which I will just clean. Sorry for TMI but just describing how much this pain was bothering me.
This is where it all got better for me, I have discovered A probiotic that is called RenewLife Extra Care Ultimate Flora. I was intrigue when I saw this because the doctor from Phoenix was explaining that all the pain that I'm experiencing was from my flora being imbalanced or not being normal. Having read the description on the probiotic that mentioned it will help with our flora I have decided to try it since there was nothing to loose. After a week of using it, it had given me pain relief! It was a huge difference. I don't burn when I urinate now. I waited till I have finish a bottle for this probiotic to post here since I wanted to see if this really helped me. Three months of taking it and I can say I am 90% better from back in 2016. I am still not 100% but I think part of it all psychological. Having this pain for more than 15 years changed me and I still think of the pain a lot so psychologically it still affects me. I know someday I will be able to stop thinking about this horrible pain and put it all behind me.
To any of you who would like to try and take this probiotic pills, please let me know if it worked for you or not. I would want to know if I was able to help somebody with this post. Thank you so much. Feel free to message me if you want to know more about my experience. I have a very long history and did not what to bore everyone with it.

Re: Found relief after more than 15 years of pain!
Hi,
I am using the RenewLife Extra Care with 30 Billion live cultures and 13 probiotic strains. Link is below. But When I went thru the different kinds in amazon, I found one that is for vaginal health and is the RenewLife Womens Vaginal with 50 Billion live cultires and 10 probiotic strains. I might try try Vaginal one once I finish my old bottle.
Good luck! I hope it will work for you too.

Thank you. My pain is strickly on the vulva, not the vagina. I have tried the 50 Billion and didn't get any relief. Sad...

Re: Found relief after more than 15 years of pain!
I am sorry to hear that. Maybe give it a little time to work? Its been really hard because Vulvodynia is so generalized that different people have very different symptoms and pain. My pain is more on the vulva too.

Thank you, will try
Thank you for letting us know about that. I have tried different probiotics in the past and have heard of the one your talking about. I'm not sure if I've tried it in the past, but probiotics have always helped my digestive tract feel better and that seems to be linked to all of this.
