Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Sulfates and allergic reactions PLEASE READ
Hey everyone. I just started feeling better lately and I really hope this isn't one of those "better for a few days and then back to the pain" moments again. I started noticing whenever I would wear my hair curly my pain would start to get better. Whenever I wear my hair curly I use a sulfate free cleansing conditioner. A few days ago I decided to completely get rid of ALL soaps. I wash my vulva with baking soda and water and also use baking soda on the rest of my body. I use a cleanser completely free of sulfates (be careful, some shampoos say they are sulfate free but they really aren't. Do your research.) I still have a slight burning but the burning on urination has completely gone away. Again, I hope this is a permanent cure and I hope it helps some of you out there.

I went sulfate free for a while. It didn't help me, but as I know sulfate free products can be really expensive, I wanted to share my top products; shower gels are £4 plus, but most bar soaps are sulfate free ( you must check, not all are) D0ve was my favorite at 60p a bar, it lasts a couple of months.
I found sulfate free shampoos really hard to switch to - try L'0real everstrong - hair looked like normal, and I still use this now.
Most conditioners are sulfate free, just check the label. Moisturisers too. I couldn't find details for detergents, but now use those eco balls.

P.s. there are other products available - better clarify that lol! I did find some nice shower gels (most are decent enough, just expensive). I found a great sulfate free fragrance free one, but it's discontinued. Shampoo was my nightmare though!

One lady on the secret fb site talked about how the chemical sodium laurel sulfate was what was causing her vulvodynia. I think she said her pain was both internal and external and mainly in the vestibule.
SLS is the ingredient that creates froth and suds but it can be irritant.
I guess this wouldn't be of much help to the girls those vulvodynia is muscle related but it is something to consider. Has anyone swapped their bath and laundry products and found improvement?

I have Provoked Vestibulodynia and my pain has almost completely gone away since switching to 100% natural bath products and laundry products. This is a huge improvement, given that the servere burning/stabbing pain I experienced upon provocation to my vestibule area made any kind of penetration impossible. I switched my products about 6 months ago, and I have recently started apply Estragyn cream (prescribed by my gyno) twice a day to help with the remaining mild irritation. I think the lady you're referring to is the one I got in contact with. She changed my life!

Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is a cheap, very effective cleansing and foaming agent. It's an ingredient in a wide range of personal care products such as soap, shampoo, bubble bath, and toothpaste. It's also used, in much higher concentrations, in industrial products such as car wash soap, engine degreasers, and floor cleaners.
Like most detergents, however, SLS can irritate skin, causing eczema and dry, coarse, or reddened skin, particularly in high concentrations or when used often.
Check ingredient labels for sodium lauryl sulfate. It may also be listed by other names, including: sodium dodecyl sulfate, lauryl sodium sulfate, sodium n-dodecyl sulfate and lauryl sulfate sodium salt.
