Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

I HATE my period!!!!!!
I hate it! It came early even when I am on the pill! I hate bleeding, I hate my hooha being on fire, burning and itching (and totally unrelated from vulvodynia because I no longer have that problem) I hate tampons as they cause me imense cramps, and the effing pads rub. I hate that this is once a month and that my back, head, boobs, stomach ache and the blood let's not forget that. AHHH I HATE IT why cant they stop it? I've been getting horrible migraines worse than any vulvodynia where I cant even function and I throw up. I HATE BEING A GIRL!!!! And this stupid pad is driving me insane, but I hate tampons more.

Re: I HATE my period!!!!!!
Sounds like the old water retention problem, as soon as you start bleeding which means hormones have shifted a bit the water creates more pees. I used to get really bad migraines with my periods too and a doctor diagnosed it as also being related to water retention and sure enough a diuretic a few days a month (right before my period) sorted that issue out too. Have some chocolate, or better still wine!

Alana, I've heard of a verrrrrrry simple solution for water retention....my best friend gets it REALLY bad and was told to drink a ton of water with lemon. Sure enough, it worked.

Who is telling you, you are fat?!? That's not nice! Seriously though, try the lemon water. And it's not REAL weight, it's just water, it happens to all of us. Some more than others.

Re: I HATE my period!!!!!!
27... So I think I have ic and have been up half the night in total panic. As soon as I take a sip of beer I have this burning sensation and have to pee the rest of the night. Coffee makes me pee too but without the burn. Alcohol is usually the only thing that makes me burn. Im so scared. Do you have this? I hate what vv has done to me it's made me total hypochondriac. Maybe im just allergic to beer? I get the burn with wine but it goes away and I don't have to pee as much. Or it could be because of my stupid period? Im going nuts. I can't talk to anyone because they're like you always have problems and I don't wanna be that girl on a good note my vv doesn't hurt! Oh and one more question (assuming you can) have sex do you have to pee right after you're done? Sorry im probably flipping for no reason. I haven't had sex in over a year and a half but def remember having to pee right after. I hate my vagina! I feel crazy

Re: I HATE my period!!!!!!
I haven't had sex since this started (sex brought this BS on) last November. And I didn't pee right after, which I totally should have. Yes, from what I hear, it's always good to pee right after penetration.
I sometimes burn when I pee, but I don't drink coffee or alcohol. For me it burns on the vulva area, not from inside Maybe you are having some sort of allergic reaction to it? Or maybe because you are panicking it's making it worse? Trust me, I know about the "crazy", hypochondria feelings. I'm in the same spot. I use to wash my vag with whatever, never had problems. Now I have to be careful about EVERYTHING...I'm such a freak about it, I wash my hands BEFORE and after peeing because I'm scared to infect myself (I've tested positive for bacteria that they are trying to treat in hopes it will make my symptoms go away) So does it burn on the vulva or does your urethra or bladder actually bother you?

Re: I HATE my period!!!!!!
It's not my vulva it's only when I drink certain drinks so maybe I am allergic? It seems to be with cider and wine. But like rum doesn't do anything to me. Im a mess. If I have ic on top of this im gonna go insane. I can't deal with oh you're normal now but here's something else you have to worry about. There goes eating and enjoying kg myself. Anything else my body wants to do to make miserable? Ic is my biggest fear ever. I seriously will for if I have this

Re: I HATE my period!!!!!!
Hmmm....Sounds like your body is already sensitive from the V...I would experiment with not drinking alcohol for a month or so, then slowly trying it again with each one separately. I know, I'd freak if I had IC too. My recent Dr threw it out there, along with PFD and I was like NOPE, not an option. For me it's just my vulva skin and vestibule. I recently had a bad case of folliculitus down there, and am on antibiotics now, it's clearing up but along with the other shit....I'm soooooo over this and for me it's only been 5 months. I'm an emotional, obsessed wreak at this point. Can't we just wake up one morning NORMAL?

Re: I HATE my period!!!!!!
Caffeine is a diuretic so coffee, tea, anything with caffeine is a sure way to irritate bladder. The alcohol is a definate irritant. I have IC too. I dont like the taste of alcohol but if I have a sip or two on holidays it goes straight through me. Even certain liquid cold and flu medicines, they contain alcohol and I have the same effect.
Some things we can get away with, some we can't. Either way it blows. You see women drinkin to have fun or relax and they are completely fine. I can't help but be jealous of their normalcy.
