Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Vaginismus & Vulvodynia - I'm in Melbourne - Please help me thanks.
Hi, how is everyone going?
I'm just wondering if anyone can help me please? I'm in Melbourne. I've seen a few Gynos who don't care and docs who don't know a thing and then pelvic floor physios and a dermatologist who deals with vulvodynia.
I'm 28 and have been having widespread pain throughout my back and stomach whenever anything penetrates me down below. This has been the case for as long as I can remember. Obviously, the bigger it is, the worse it is. Any sort of movement of the object penetrating produces a rubbing/burning feeling and makes it worse. It is all tight down there and hard to get into. For this reason, I haven't had sex many times. I have been told to use a dilator to stretch the area. I have been doing so on and off for the past few years - but not often enough. The last 1 month, I've been trying to use it every day to try and stretch the area and massage the sore spots and tight bands.
The dermatologist inspected my skin down there and said it appears normal. Whenever the entrance is touch - closer towards the front part, I get a sharp pinching feeling though. The sex psychologist tried to tell me it is in my head but suggested I see the dermo, who advised me to take Endep tablets or even try Endep cream down there.
I also suffer from some urinary incontinence and IBS.
I'm a bit worried about the side effects of taking Endep - she said it will make me drowsy which I don't want. Plus I know it has other side effects too. Has anyone tried the Endep cream?
Are there any other treatment options?
I'd greatly appreciate your help thanks. I'm in Melbourne and it is getting me down. I feel like I'm going around in circles.

When you say urinary incontinence what type do you have? Is it an overwhelming urge to go and not making it in time or a leaking when coughing or sneezing etc? I've got the same kinds of problems with my pelvic floor but due to another condition can't stretch it out yet.

So urge incontinence then, I had the same problem when I first started trying not to clench my pelvic floor all the time, it's still tight and not yet ready for stretching but if I concentrate on not clenching it I don't get the urge incontinence anymore so it will go away as you loosen the muscles off.

Yeah but sometimes I'm crouching down doing stuff and I don't get the urge to urinate because I'm not thinking about it, but I can't straighten up to walk to the toilet because the pressure on my bladder or the change in pressure appears to cause me to do it in my pants.
Are there any other alternatives to anti-depressant pills to treat vulvodynia please? Has anyone experienced any side effects to the pills - and if so, what were they please?
Thanks.
