Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

What are you supposed to do if it is some sort of invisible infection?

What are you supposed to do if it is some sort of invisible infection?
Mine feels like really really bad burning thrush, and I have had relief from thrush creams in the past, but the burning always came back. Now whenever they test me there's apparently no bv or yeast. But I've read things about infections living in the glands rather than discharge so they may not be detectable on swabs. Is there a way to find out if that is the cause of your problem? I have had thrush and bv before. The bv didn't cause me pain or itching but a disgusting odour - sorry to be gross but it was actually like rotten fish! Lol. And lots of yellowy discharge. It all went away with antibiotics quickly thank god.

Your doctor should be swabbing your glands anyway but they produce a fluid that mixes with discharge anyway

Re: What are you supposed to do if it is some sort of invisible infection?
Tinkerbelle, maybe try a quality probiotic for vaginal health. I'm reading about them and apparently you have to be sure they're refrigerated. Some women have had success with fem dophilus or Ultimate Flora for vaginal health. They are expensive, however. :/
Hope you find relief soon. Over the years I've used the yeast cream medicine and found temporary relief as well. my doctor felt the relief may have been due to anti-inflammatory properties in the medicine not necessarily yeast relief. Such a puzzle. Is your skin inflamed? If it is an infection......quality probiotics may help.

Alana - I just don't know about doctors anymore lol. Leslie, thanks so much for the info! I have started taking multivitamins and have heard probiotics are good too. Is there a specific type that you suggest? I'm sure Holland and barrett would do them. Hope you find relief soon too!
Ahh just saw you mentioned some names, will check 'em out!

The vestibule does look inflamed and irritated and much more red than it's natural pink

Re: What are you supposed to do if it is some sort of invisible infection?
Could be vulovdynia or an infection do they have AZO over in the UK? It really helps, or try taking a Garlic supplement they are supposed to help with yeast infections. Assuming of course it is yeast lol... Have you been in recently? I went the other day because my entire hooha felt awful and I thought my vulvodynia was coming back turns out I had a cervical infection that was so bad it was mimicking yeast and turning my vulva red. The worst part about this we thought we were fighting yeast the ENTIRE time because cervical infections mimic yeast and don't rear their ugly heads making it obvious months later (I was in pain for 3 months- they didn't even think of doing a pap because I just had one 3 months ago and it was normal). That being said, this is NOT cancer just an infection, but holy sweet jesus it hurt SO bad. I'm def not saying that's what you have, but I would hate for you to treat something thinking it was yeast and than have something else instead. You do not want to build a yeast resistance to meds. If you haven't been to your doc in a while I would recommend it! Just trying to help and share what's helped for me. Obviously we're all different which sucks
