Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

How long until Pregabalin works?
Hello ladies,
From all of you who've used Lyrica, how long until it started working ?
I can now wear skinny jeans and put one leg over the other, the sensitivity with touch has ameliorated and I will soon try and have intercourse with some non-latex condoms and organic lube ....
I don't know if I should add the Tramadol 50 mg to my combination of 50 mg amitriptyline and 300 mg lyrica....
About the Lyrica, I love it ! MY only side effects were headaches at first and feeling weird...now after 5 weeks my mind is more clear than ever and I can study better !
Also, surprise ! My tickle nerve of the abdomen are dead! I used to be hypersensitive in that area

Re: How long until Pregabalin works?
I have had ZERO pain for 2 months now...just pain with touch...I was thinking of Tramadol just for the intercourse part..to prevent pain..not on a daily basis...I'm not so sure what to do

Re: How long until Pregabalin works?
Hi Mary Jane! Lyrica is pretty good... As I mentioned before my only side effect was weight gain and if I knew how to control that it would be perfect! It took the edge of almost instantly for me.. And then it got better and better as time went on. I was only on it for 4 months before I was stable enough to ween off it and after 6 months I was off it completely and stayed pain free for about 15 months which was great! As you know it has come back but nowhere near as bad as it was and if I hadn't of had the weight I'd have gone straight back on it. Ami definitely isn't working as well so I'll probably go back on it again after the summer.
Should note tho my pain wasn't provoked so I can't comment on how it affected that. Great that your nervy buzzing symptoms have gone tho!!!
Have you noticed any weight issues? If you haven't I'll be temped to try it again and just be more careful with food than I was last time. I was eating like a pig without even realising!
Not sure about the tramadol.. What about trying lidocaine for sex instead?
It might work more locally...
Xxx

Yeah I wouldn't use tramadol if you're not in pain you dont want to gain resistance to it if or when u do need it. Try lidocaine.

Re: How long until Pregabalin works?
thank you for the input ladies! I'll try the lidocaine 5% ointment I have in the drawer!!
I have put on a bit of weight (4kg) but not from the pills, it was the depression that made me eat chocolate ! If I'd watch what I eat more, I'd easily lose them!
I have some water retention instead, but nothing too serious. I try and keep active every day...what really surprised me was that amitriptyline had a LOT more side effects for me than Lyrica!

Oh yeah the water retention was the worst!! I remember now! My tummy always stuck out! I think that will go with time though, as your body adjusts to them.
Such great news Mary Jane! You sound so positive and happy!!
