Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Re: First acupuncture
Hi.. I tried acupuncture once a week for about 2 months. I honestly don't think it did anything except make me feel realized for about an hour.
I think it may also depend on your pain as well. For me, I have more external/nerve pain so the acupuncture can't really help with that. However, if your pain is more internal/muscle related, I think it could be beneficial. My acupuncurist said that it usually takes 8-12 weeks to see a difference though.
But everyone is different so it may work for you! Good luck!

Re: First acupuncture
Mine seems to be generalized external but idk about internal a bit bit definitely external , what kind do you have ?? I haven tried any medication like antidepressants ect yet so far just avoid some things eg tight clothes sex ect they want me to try acupuncture first before any medication they said because I'm only 22 :/ but idk do medications ever be a cure or just cover symptoms up so new to all this ! They haven't even diagnosed me with vulvodynia like they never said the word but all the treatments they have talked about eg acupuncture, Pilates, antidepressants ect sounds like a by of a give away ??? :/ xox

Re: First acupuncture
I stopped going to it I would bleed and have horrendous cramps every time. And I'm pretty sure it was in my head when I did "feel better" after acupuncture. I wanted to believe it worked so it did, but not really. Medications can actually help it, but keep in mind there is not a cure for vulvodynia. There are things that can be done- I had surgery and even tho I'm 100% better I am not considered cured.

Re: First acupuncture
Yeah I jw when people said thy where cured was confused ? I honestly can't remember what it feels like I be normal and it's only been five months lol ! They said if acupunture didn't work but gapenitn or something sorry for bad spelling ?? Mine seems to be more generalized inner thighs ect too but I do feel as I my pelvic floor muscles are contributing with the pain. Is there any surgery for generalized I guess not ? Xox

Re: First acupuncture
I have more external pain but I also had some muscle related pain. Acupuncture didn't help with either. I would ask your doctor about physical therapy. I think it kind of has the same goal outcome as acupuncture for the muscle related pain but you're doing more hands on work that works for more than just a little bit after a session.
I am only 21 and have had this for almost 3 years so I know how you feel, zbrown . Ask your doctor to prescribe you so lidocain for temporary relief here and there... at least that would help sometimes.
