Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

6 days free of most symptoms.....scared
Hi everyone...My story started 5 months ago with a YI and then BV..after metrogel then flagyl the burning got worse....its been a few months since then and now i feel better..
I take
Potassium/magnisium/calcium citrate/aloe caps/vitv e/Vit b6 vit b12/omega fish/zinc/coconut oil/high PH water and it got better when i started zyrtec... also acupunture and massage once a week .I was at my obgyn yesterday and he gave me a script for Elavil 50 mg and Lyrica 100 3xday...I have to wait on the lyrica until my insurance clears.
Im scared because I finally feel like Im getting better ,most of the day Im symptom free.. just have an occasional zing or mild itch....My Vulvodnyia is unprovoked. I dont have pain with sex or exams etc. its all external the labia minora.
Ill keep you guys posted, and TY reading all these posts have sooooooo helped me<3

Re: 6 days free of most symptoms.....scared
Please keep updating us. I have the same symptoms....external only. Right now my pain is constant and doesn't go away. I am on gabapentin 400mg 3xday. It has brought my pain level down to maybe a 7. I have read good things about Lyrica combined with tricyclics. I see a new Gyno in a few weeks and hope he will prescribe me the same. So, please let me know how you do! Good luck

Re: 6 days free of most symptoms.....scared
so far I am definitely better. I range from 1/10 to 3/10.....and Im only 4 days in on the Elavil. Havent started the Lyrica yet ....waiting on approval from the insurance. Im still trying to figure out whats causing this. I had a YI then BV and after the metrogel and Flagyl all hell broke loose. But I keep coming up neg on wet mounts. the constant burning is gone now all I have is the zing itch or needle prick feeling. almost what it feels like when a burn or a bad wound is healing...my Dr prescribed me 100mg 3x per day of Lyrica and it costs 500$ so hopefully my insurance pays.I also am on the Oxalate diet and I started to drink PH water of 8.4 only. My urine was acidic. I just want my life back where i dont feel this or think about it every min of the day. how are you doing?

Re: 6 days free of most symptoms.....scared
I am so glad you are feeling better bvnh13!! And I hope your insurance comes through for you too. I haven't been feeling well at all. The gabapentin isn't working at all. My pain level is about an 8. My Gyno is incompetent. I was diagnosed with v.v. Yet never had a blood test, never had a urinalysis, never had any wet mounts done. Pretty much told me I had v.v. and gave me the meds. Never told me about the disease, what my options are or anything!! My pain is definately nerve related. It happened also after Metrogel and Flagyl. I have an appt on the 15th with a new Gyno who I PRAY will be better. At least now I am more knowledgable about it and know what to ask. Hopefully he will agree with the treatments of Lyrica and Elavil (Amitriptyline).
Anyway, I will pray for you to continue to feel better and you can get your Lyrica. Keep me updated - Cathy

Elavil 50mg every night, Lyrica 50mg 3x day..I noticed you tried Nuerontin, I did too and had a strange shooting pain in my stomach so I asked to switch to Lyrica and it seems better.. I hope you find relief soon. Maybe try acupunture. I have been doing that for about a month.. I just think the combo of everything is helping

Re: 6 days free of most symptoms.....scared
yeah nuerontin did nothing for me....my pain level is down to 0 to 2 off and on during the day. I get more of the electric shock zing and a itch that last 5 seconds and it gets better. I really think my body didnt know how to handle my infections and my nerves are crazy and my brain still sends the signals. I never had vaginal infections in my life and Im fourty two. Let me know how it goes Ill be thinking about you
