Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

I would like to know if dryness is a symptoms of vulvodynia? I haven't been diagnosed yet, as I still have to get to a doctor, but my issues started after starting a birth control. Since then, I stopped the birth control which made the burning go down significantly, now it's just slightly irritated. Masturbating or putting anything around the vestibule or inserting a tampon doesnmt really hurt. I just notice my vagina (not vulva) is swollen, and I haven't produced much of that clear discharge you produce everyday, even when I'm turned on I don't really get it. I'm only 18, so dryness shouldn't be a problem for me, so I'm wondering if it's a hormonal problem for me, since estrogen is what produces that clear discharge. Can you tell me your experiences? Do you guys have the same amount of clear discharge or are you guys also quite dry??? Thank you! I appreciate any answers, as I am very scared.

Hi Aspenlynn14,

To me, it sounds like you may just have an irritation, but please do go see a doctor. I've had the V for 7 years or so now. I've always had a normal amount of natural lubrication. For me, I never had issues producing my own lubricant. I never heard of that being an issue for woman with V- unless they have postmenopausal V.

Don't be scared. See a doctor as soon as you can. If you have any concerns please let me know.
