Considering surgery

Hey everyone! I need some advice I've been in pain for the last (almost) 2 years. Mine is provoked but I have constant pain. I think what provokes lasts very long so it feels unprovoked, hope it makes sense:)
The thing is, I'm considering surgery. But mine is primary, congenital vestibuodynia so I feel like my success chance is very low. Does it affect the outcome of the surgery?

I've been cured. I've been pain free for over 2 years. Please read my post in the 'Vulvodynia info' forum titled 'Cure from vulvodynia....' If you're willing to try surgery maybe you're willing to try an alternative doctor. The right alternative doctor. I've been to 15 western docs and probably 10 alternative docs over the years. I had it for 15 years on and off. Please give it one more try before you try surgery. Knowing what I know now about my vulvodynia surgery would have not helped.

I have not had surgery but at one point at my all time low I considered it. All I can offer in terms of advice is make sure the doctor you see is highly knowledgeable about vulvovaginal disorders. I was not a candidate for surgery even though I basically begged my specialist over a year ago. There are many people on this site who have had successful surgeries so I suggest you connect with them. Most importantly though, discuss with your doctor because you wouldn't want to have the surgery on a whim that it MAY work. Good luck to you on your journey!
