Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I'm sorry im rambling

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Tue Jan 08, 2019 3:55 pm by flissyg

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Before all the crap started I used to get a brazillian every 4 weeks, I have done this for years without problem. I can now only manage to get a g-string wax and I still don't feel clean. I don't know if I am game enough to try a brazillian again...do you guys think it would make it worse?

I have to say it's not something I'd consider with V! I'd have thought it could really set the nerves in the skin off and make things alot worse but obviously don't know for sure because I wouldn't risk it right now! Makes me cringe just thinking about it!

It's interesting you say this. When my GF and I, ahem, first shared a bed, I noticed she was completely smooth down there and I asked her wouldn't waxing be even worse with her condition than for women who don't have it. She said no way would she dare wax any more but she does shave down there every couple of days and in fact having hair in that neck of the woods irritates her and makes things worse. So I guess that's a no to waxing but a yes to being smooth. Which is obviously nice from a guy's point of view Very Happy .

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Amazing! How does she stay smooth through shaving!? Shaving itches me so much! Even my legs, but it's more socially acceptable to scratch your leg in public than get your hand down there and give it a good old hoach! Unless you're a man, then that's allowed for some unfair reason *COUGH COUGH MARK COUGH* - Very Happy

argh I can't think of anything worse than shaving. I used to and then started waxing because the itch and ingrown hairs were so annoying. I miss being smooth Sad I guess I will just have to wait untill things calm down. I guess it's because I can have sex now. when it caused pain I wasn't bothered about the hair. Now I just want it gone. Sorry girls I know some of you are much worse off than me. Don't think bad of me please I was just having a moan. Smile

GRRR AUSSIE YOU DON'T BELONG HERE, YOU'RE NOT IN ENOUGH PAIN!!!!

Don't be silly! Any pain down there is BAD pain!!! Maybe you're not the worst, but you're certainly not "okay" enough to not have joined here or been diagnosed with something wrong!

I've never been smooth there, I shaved it once and regretted it the next day, the itching was ridiculous! I wish I could be, I love when my legs are smooth. But because I can't have sex and don't want to do anything, I suppose I don't need to be smooth!

I used to wax as well, and miss being smooth (and find hair does sometimes irritate me) but would not risk waxing and couldnt stand to shave so ill just sigh and accept the limitations this condition puts on me. sigh. Neutral Its great that you are at a point where its possible for you to have sex, Aussie. Jealous, but happy for you.

BTW, sounds like you've been doing a bit more than sharing a bed, Mark Razz

Oh the lovely itchy shaving rash and stubble within a day, no thanks. It's not like anyone is seeing my lady bits at the moment except for doctors so not worth the effort for me. Aussie I think it's great you can have sex too.

I can use a trimmer and keep it tidy, as having lots of hair deff irritates more. Couldnt stand to totally shave smooth tho as the stubble would do my head in!
