Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Diagnosed Recently

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

You know? i have a sneaky suspician, that these yeast creams CAUSE vulvodynia. Also antibiotics! Some. anyway. I have been researching and digging and digging. Now I think there is some connection between these sulfa antibiotics(broad spectrum) and somehow it attacks the delicate V skins and tissues. Besides creating yeast.(we know that) Right? Thats one theory i have.
Now these yeast creams? if i knew that they would cause this much damage, i would have never used it. I tried not too. Only ONCE in my life i used an over the counter yeast medicine. And to end up like this????????????? this Junk ought to be taken off the market. I hate to see women ending up like this because of these medicines. Every time i run across someone like us, i ask? have you taken one of these antibiotics. They all say YES. weird coincidence huh? these medicines out there now a days are becoming DANGEROUS. Ever listen to the ads? i love the one on tv that says if you take this medicine, you may get a serious fungal infection. Thanks. Yum yum. Or thoughts of suicide? in our house, between me and my insignificant other, we have had about 6 rashes. He got excema from heart burn medicine. Me, the v problem form sulfa antibiotic. All from just a couple of medicines. And doctors? oh boy? they are alot of help. They have no clue what to do. Just mad today about the situation we are all in. Sick of it!cindy

I agree. I put so many creams on my vulva for "yeast infections" prescribed by well meaning doctors without swab tests. They need to go back to med school. I tell eveyone I know not to use topical yeast medications.

If only we knew then what we know now hey!

Aussie, i thought we here in the states were the only ones with dumbo doctors! guess not. They are taking over the world! AHHHHH.
Me too, I spread the word. There is one cream so bad, women have opened up a class action law suit. Burns them so bad they have to go to the emergency room.

I'm mad and suspicious! Empty Doctors

Post  Aussie Thu Sep 08, 2011 3:16 am

From what I can gather US docs are way better than Aus docs. UK docs seem to have got the worst of the lot from speeking with others.

We don't even have vaginal valium here (well we do but specialists have not heared of it).

I can get some compounded at a later stage if I think it will help.

Hi, I think i got IC cos of chonic burning but anyway when i was 3 the doctors give me frequency use of antibiotic, I had them till i was 15 and now i got vulvodynia so yeah i think antibiotic can cause this condition, Im only 20 and so much stuff have happened to me that could cause vulvodynia i had been raped when i was 18 and im sure i could have sex with my fiancee but my head was so missed up (I meet him a month after) which caused so much pain knowing im with this brilliant guy and not being to "be a women" he so patient unlike me lol. Im the UK and the doctors here r crap, im with this new doctor in Wales and she seems okay, I met one doctor who told me it all in head, I was woundering have anyone cured vulvodynia with any tabs im on neurontin.

I take amitriptyline tablets...they have helped with burning. I still have soreness, rawness, and iritation. Inside and outside. The pain has spread to my bum. Im sick of this bullshit, honestly.

I was seeing a ''specialist'' (LOL they are anything but) and she told me it will eventually go away...I can get off the meds, etc etc....haha, I dont think so doc!

I have tried dilators, but they only help with penetration issues. The meds help some with the pain...but what can take away the irritation? I am constantly plagued by thoughts of my vulva,..whether at work or whatever. It hurts or itches or feels raw.

Im terrified of creams. I used way too much in the beginning of this ordeal. Doctor didnt warn me about the side-effects. I was on antibiotics a month before I developed V. There must be some correlation here. I dont know.
