Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Eating disorders and V?

Eating disorders and V?
I'm just curious if any of us have had a history of eating disorders. I was just reading about a woman who suffered from bulimia and has vulvodynia, and just realized that my V started shortly after I became bulimic.
I am wondering if there could be any connection. The acid caused by bulimia, the poor immune system of anorexia?
Any thoughts?

Re: Eating disorders and V?
I was anorexic when I was about 13 until about 15 because it felt like something I could control in my life after an incident I couldn't. I'm not sure about the connection though that was over 20 years before I got V so I have no clue if they're connected except perhaps in a stress way? My eating problems were triggered by a huge stress and I've probably been clenching my pelvic floor ever since seeing as I do it when I'm stressed. That's the only connection I can see, stomach acid is present in everyone and bulimia would just have it affect upwards rather than downwards I would have thought!

Re: Eating disorders and V?
I have had an eating disorder since I was 8 years old, I am now 22. I think eds do have an affect, as mine was a result of my body not being able to fight off an infection. I have suffered mainly with anorexia, with bouts of bulimia, funnily enough I slipped into my bulimia about 2 months ago. Since then my vulvodynia has got worse, I definately think there is a link. Also the laxative abuse, diet pill abuse etc cannot surely help.
It makes sense strong, healthy bodies are more able to fight things off and run properly, I hope you are able to recover and this has helped.

I've wondered this myself
I've never had an eating disorder but I am 22, 85lbs and 5'1"-- so my BMI is extremely low and I believe myself to be extremely malnourished. My breasts never developed like other women either. I see Dr. Munarriz at Boston University Medical Center and he did mention during my initial consultation that there is speculation about women my size being more prone to Vestibulitis so I often think my malnourishment has something to do with it. But I'm honestly unsure, it's just speculation.
I blame myself all the time. I saw a nutritionist at one time who said that I have "disordered eating" -- I don't intentionally try to lose weight but I don't eat enough to gain any--barely eat enough to maintain. I often blame myself for this--If I could just find a way to stuff my face with food and gain weight maybe my tissue would be healthier. Maybe then I would produce testosterone like normal women.

Re: Eating disorders and V?
Up until very recently I have always been naturally thin but could eat whatever I liked and not put weight on ( one of those people I know!) However, now I would say I am a size 12-14 and I still eat and drink whatever I fancy really. I am certainly not a healthy eater, though I do try to eat fruit and veg etc. I don't diet and I don't do much exercise. So I can't help with an eating disorder link however judging by my lack of healthy lifestyle maybe there is a link to diet in general?
