Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I'm sorry im rambling

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:49 am by Jet227

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Okay one last question, and this one doesn't have a story with it, promise.

What do people think of the low-oxalate diet, combined with calcium supplements, sort of treatment?

I absolutely cannot stick to it at this point [note: I was prescribed this back when I was 21 and first was told about vulvodynia, but said "eff that" and didn't follow it; now I'm wondering if it's worth it, but no one prescribed it this time; just Internet Doctorz]. I know I'm 27 but I'm way too immature to resist chocolate. And I was reading something that said to avoid FRUITS AND VEGETABLES?

I'm a student with little money, who's a bad cook, who figured that if I cut red meat out of my diet, start eating white meat with less carbs (hard to cut down on those too) and more vegetables and fresh fruits, I could feel healthier and have more energy. (I've been a junk food junkie, let's say, and I gained a lot of weight.) I don't get the whole cutting out fruit thing. What the hell? That's absurd. Where are you supposed to get your vitamins, other than a tablet?

Curious about low-oxalate diet Empty Found an insane list

Post  yuffie623 Mon Jan 30, 2012 2:58 am

These are the things that apparently have "very high" or "high" amounts of "oxalates."

There is no way. I'm already dealing with giving up tomatoes and hot peppers because I am allergic, and cutting out red meat and carbs when I can. What the eff? I am pissed so I am gonna be irrational and copy-paste this:

Wheat
Walnuts
Turmeric
Tahini
Sweet Potatoes
Stevia
Star Fruit
Spinach
Soybeans
Soy
Sesame Seeds
Sesame Oil
Rye
Rhubarb
Raspberries
Potatoes
Pinto Beans
Pine Nuts
Pecans
Peanuts
Peanut Butter
Olives
Okra
Navy Beans
Millet
Milk Thistle
Macadamia Nuts
Kiwi
Hazelnut
Flour
Filberts
Figs
Durum Flour
Cocoa Powder
Chocolate
Chard
Celery
Cashews
Carrots
Carob
Buckwheat
Blackberries
Black Beans
Beets
Almonds
Yellow Dock
V8 (I'm allergic anyway)
Tomato Paste, Tomato Sauce (I'm allergic to those too)
Sorrel
Pitachios
Persimmons
Peppercorn
Black Pepper
Oregano
Oranges
Lime Peel
Lemon Peel
Kidney Beans
Kamut
Gooseberries
Dewberries
Dates
Date Sugar
Dandelion Greens
Currants
Collard Greens
Cinnammon
Chocolate Milk
Chili Peppers (allergic to those too)
Brussel Sprouts
Amaranth
Green Tea

Curious about low-oxalate diet Empty Re: Curious about low-oxalate diet

I went to see a dietician a few weeks ago to see about a low-oxalate diet and just my general dietary needs.

Instead of giving me a list of foods to avoid she went through a list of what I do eat, then picked out which ones would count as being high oxalate. As a result, the only things I did need to cut out were chocolate, red cabbage and beans.

There's the odd thing like citrus-y fruits I avoid when I find myself going to grab one, but other than that my cut out list was fairly minimal!

Chocolate was a nightmare to give up!! The dietician said try it for two weeks then try re-introduce it. Longest two weeks of my life! I'm eating it again now but I have started to wonder if it did make me feel slightly better, so I may try and cut it out again. Bloody hard work though!

That sounds like a very sensible way to approach it, just look at what you already eat and need to cut out. I'm not really much of a chocolate kind of girl so for me the attempt I had at the low ox plus calcium citrate diet wasn't too difficult but didn't help either so I ditched it. I'm also very sensitive to calcium supplements and they have a habit of literally going in one end and out the other in about 20 minutes so not a great idea for me anyway. It's always worth a try though.
