Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams

Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21

Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?

Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie.  I live in the UK.

I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia.  I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.

I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

An absolute success story- please read!

Fri Mar 08, 2019 10:57 pm by Persevere1990

Dear All,

I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.

I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

hey, im 19, ive been struggling with this almost a year. The first week I became itchy I went in to check about a yeast infection another week later. I have been to 10 different doctors a total of about 15 appointments for this problem for the past 11 months. I have been tested for everything including having a biopsy. I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch

Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,

I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!

So this is my story:-

I’m 36,  and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”.  The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help

Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124

Hi everyone,

About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

Femdophilus Empty Femdophilus

Post  shortstuff Mon Jul 30, 2012 10:48 am

Hi everyone! I have not been on here in a long time, but I had some amazing results with a probiotic I tried and I felt the need to share.

I had been suffering from constant vestibular burning for about a year. During that time, I was also diagnosed with HSVII and assumed that my symptoms were related to that, but after being put on suppressive therapy and realizing I only had ONE real outbreak, and still had constant burning.. I knew it was more than that. About a month ago, I also had PID from a BV infection. I have suffered frequent yeast infections, but even after these were treated I still have the burning sensations. I was unable to have sex for over 8 months... probably about 10 months really.

I read about Jarrow Formulas Femdophilus, for treating my yeast and BV. The reviews were extremely positive so I felt like anything was worth a shot. I had tried probiotics before (Acidipholus) with no results, but these are forumulated especially for women's vaginal health and the tablets don't disolve until after they pass through your stomach. They are not cheap, $25 for 30 pills, but I bought a bottle. It's been a month and I AM COMPLETELY NORMAL AGAIN!!! I've been able to have unpainful sex, multiple times, these past three weeks, with NO PROBLEMS afterwards. And not just tender slow love, but rough sex. I didn't have to say, "wait wait OMG IT HURTS", it was just enjoyable again. you have no idea how happy I am!!!

I started taking them once daily, but was still having some discomfort although noticably less. So I inserted one pill at night (I opened it and inserted the powder with my finger) and took two a day. The day after inserting the pill, I had some scratchiness but the following day was 50% better. So I did the same thing one more time (inserted a pill, took two orally) and two days later, NORMALCY!! I have been taking two pills orally for about two weeks now, and plan on going down to one as suggested (the bottle says take 1 orally, 2 as needed). These pills were a miracle for me, for the first time in a year I feel like a real woman again.

Even though all of us on here have been told it's not yeast or BV related (I was told the same thing), I know many of you have theorized that it was the yeast cream treatments that started this whole mess. I have no idea why these pills worked for me since at the time I started taking them I had just been cleared by the dr. of yeast or bv, and was honestly trying them to just keep those two infections away. But no more burning, no more uncomfortableness, I can even wear sexy panties with no problems. Girls, it is worth a shot! My dr. had never heard of these supplements, but look them up online.. Amazon has a ton of reviews, nearly all of them positive. The only thing is they HAVE to be refrigerated, if they aren't the bacterium die. Whole foods stores sells them refrigerated, and I know there are a couple sites online that deliver them in ice packs. I recently ordered some from herbspro.com, but have not received them yet.. I will let you know if they arrive cold or not.

Anyone else try these?

I can't believe no one has responded yet...

I just wanted to give an update on herbspro.com. don't order from them! My package got lost and instead of sending me a new shipment they rerouted the original so I can almost guarantee it will arrive dead since its been a week or more now and they have to stay cold.

On the bright side, I have been out of it for 3 days and I still feel normal.

was your burning constant? I suffer from gereralized V which started after a nasty yeast infection that seemed to inflame my skin post treatment. I too take probiotics. The are called Ultimate Flora Vaginal Support. I haven't notice much difference yet though my doctor did say my pelvic floor is super tight in response from the infection.

Yes my burning was constant. I couldn't wear underwear it was so bad. It was not until I inserted the powder from the pill directly into my vagina that I felt normal. I was already feeling better than when it all first started though, the burning wasn't nearly as bad, I honestly started the probiotics just to ward off bv and yeast and try to get my system back to regular. But I now have NO pain, and I feel it had to be something to do with my ph or bacteria even though I kept testing negative. Hopefully this post makes sense lol I'm exhausted right now.

Are you taking the probiotics only orally?

Alright, I'm awake now and I just want to clarify my post from lastnight.

I was still having burning sensations when I started the probiotics, but it was not nearly as intense as it had been 9 months ago. I think it had subsided partially because I stopped all hormone treatments they had put me on, including BC. I did not feel normal though, and sex was still very very very iffy, partly because i was so afraid of it at that point. I started taking the probiotic because I had a BV infection that turned into PID, and then the antibiotics caused a yeast infection, and I did not want to fall into that cycle of BV then yeast, BV then yeast, so I wanted to do all I could to ward it off. So I took two difulcans to get rid of the yeast, still had the burning but no yeast or BV, according to the doctor. So I started taking the Femdophilus. After inserting the contents of the pill (not the coating, just the inside powder), within two days my burning had subsided almost 100%, I inserted a second pill and two days later no pain at all. I wasn't even trying to get rid of the vulvodynia, I was simply trying to ward off another infection.

I have no idea why this worked for me. The only thing I can think of is that the V was caused by some kind of imbalance down there, not nerve issues like I thought, or perhaps I had a yeast infection in the skin all along that wasn't being picked up on. I honestly have no idea, and I don't really care.. I'm just so grateful to feel normal again! I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but I feel the need to share it with everyone since I know how hard and painful it is emotionally to feel like you ran out of options. I had tried probiotics in the past (acidophilus) but they did nothing for my yeast issues or the V. Perhaps this will work for someone else who had all this start with a yeast infection....The femdophilus was honestly just something I felt couldn't make things any worse and was worth a shot after reading all the positive reviews of it on Amazon.

Sooooooo pleased for you shortstuff! And thanks for letting us know - I've ordered some of these now.

But have found out that they're being send from US to UK and will take 9 -12 business days to arrive!!!! So don't know how effective they will be as I doubt they will be refrigerated :-( Ho hum.
Will let you know how I get on.

LouLou,

if they are warm, send them back!

I ordered off of herbspro.com. The product arrived warm, because of a shipping error, but it was sent properly packaged in icepacks in a perishable box... when I emailed them to tell them the product was ruined, they immediately refunded my money without any hassels, and I didn't even have to ship the product back to them. So I only lost the initial shipping charge. They ship from California (I'm not sure where you live), so they might be worth a shot if yours are ruined.

I've also heard that the Vitamin Shoppe chain carries them, but I don't have one near me.

I'm taking this! My vulva specialist had me try it- but I've only been taking one a day and haven't noticed a difference. Since I have the same exact symptoms you did, I will double the dose and insert vaginally. THANK YOU! Wish me luck <3

Femdophilus Empty did it work

Post  Ouch123 Mon Aug 31, 2015 5:51 pm

Hi All,
Did anyone else have luck with this. I'm on antibiotics now so there is not point. But I finish Wednesday and have them sitting in my fridge waiting. I am very hopeful. I thing there are many causes to vulvodnia, but I truly believe mine is an imbalance of some kind. I have high hopes.

Thanks
Stacey
