Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

MonaLisa Touch

Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

It's back after 5 years pain free!!!!
I just tried to type this out but I don't think it posted, so if this is a double post please forgive me.
About 6 1/2 years ago I started suffering from vulvodynia. I went to several different ob.gyns, a urologist (who said it was in my head), had to quit my job, and basically was miserable for a year or so. Then I found an ob.gyn who told me that I should try eastern medicine because western medicine has no cure for this. He was kind and gentle and caring so I took his advice and went to acupuncture. After one month my pain was down to 25% of what it was. By 4 months, I was well enough that I got pregnant and I stopped going to acupuncture. Pregnancy really "cured" me though. The more advanced the pregnancy got, the better I felt. And it has stayed that way for 5 years, up until 3 days ago.
Now I am freaking out because it is back. I have no idea what changed, other than me having quite a bit of stress right now. I have maintained a healthy diet for the past 5 years, so I don't think it's a diet thing. I really have no idea what caused this but I can't afford acupuncture right now and I am so sad and depressed!!! We desperately want another baby and have been trying for 3 years, and I've miscarried 2.
Has anyone else gone years pain free and then had it return?? Any ideas? This is so scary. It thought I was done with this horrible nightmare forever, and I'm heartbroken.

STRESS!
YES YES YES this has everything to do with stress! I got it after dad died of cancer...and mom just got diagnosed of cancer. I can tell if I have less stress, the pain is less. SO, I am tryign really hard to focus on good (easier said than done). But, everything takes time i guess.

Re: It's back after 5 years pain free!!!!
Thanks Rainy! I am really hoping if I can reduce my stress level that will help. This year has been super hard. I lost a baby 2nd tri, injured my knee really badly and had to have surgery plus 3 months rehab, after my miscarriage I had a cyst rupture on my ovary 2 wks later. Same week I miscarried, my husband's grandfather who we adored died. My son just started kindergarten and my hubby is having to work 2 jobs since I haven't been able to work at all this year. This stress has also brought my asthma back that I had in childhood. It's overwhelming.
I am so sorry to hear about your dad and now your mom having cancer! I hope we both can relax more and beat this thing. I did it once. Surely I can do it again, right??!?!

Stress!
My dad got diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and died 9 mths later. Mom got diagnosed a few months after dad died. Currently going through radiation. Her prognosis is really good, fortunately. We farm for a living, and it's the biggest drought in 25 yrs. My husband quit his job to expand his farming business this year (and go figure the farming took a crap with the draught). I am ill enough that I can't hardly make it to work. I get worse at work...better at home. My family has completely divided after dad's death...he was the mold that kept us together. So, yes, stress has a LOT to do with this crap. My physio has me meditating, doing yoga, and has encouraged me to see a therapist about how my dad's death has affected me emotionally. I am a wreck. It's funny since when my mom comes to my house for a day or 2, she can get me really calm and the pain is much, much better. I wish she could be here every day, but she lives over an hour away. So, yes, I do think we can beat this. But, we have to get a handle on our stress level first.

therapist
my physio says DO NOT focus on the pain. think of anythign but the pain to re-train your brain to think about other things. I try to focus on the tip of my nose...as silly as it sounds.
