Gabapentin Gel. or other topical creams
Thu May 10, 2018 9:43 am by Rosie21
Hi I have been suffering for some years with this abominable pain. I have tried most of the systemic drugs , I asked specialists and Doctors if I could at least try a topical treatment but because this requires a special prescription have been refused Has anybody had a chance of trying these? Thank you I will try to put a link on to some of the research into Gabapentin Gel. Thanks.

Putnams 'bony parts' cushion or Putnams 'Dr Huff' cushion - which is best?
Sat Aug 01, 2015 4:17 pm by Fielder
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie. I live in the UK.
I'm trying to work out the best cushion to get for my vulvodynia. I suspect that I could have pudendal nerve involvement (the aching and burning pain is from vagina to clitoris) and I have rectocele and some tailbone pain too.
I have seen some good reports on older threads regarding the Putnams pressure relief cushions....with some ladies …

Dear All,
I posted on here back in March 2017 having just got a diagnosis of vulvodynia after a few months of relentless and acute pain. I was desperate, I was hurting, I was scared I would never know life without pain there again.
I tried creams, acupuncture, numbing gels, frozen pads, baths with various internet recommended concoctions- convinced myself I had lichen sclerosus, herpes, thrush- …

I was first told basically to just go home and use hydrocortazone, then I went …

MonaLisa Touch
Fri Feb 08, 2019 7:35 pm by rl2091
Hi All,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the MonaLisa Touch treatment for Vulvodynia? My pain started when I went on HRT(pill) for anxiety mainly and my pain abruntly stopped when I stopped HRT. However, when I started on the HRT patch (at my dr's suggestion), the pain returned and has never left. That was 7 years ago. I found MonaLisa Touch on the internet purely by accident …

Hi All,
I’m so glad I’ve found a place where there are others who understand how I feel!
So this is my story:-
I’m 36, and 4 months ago, whilst innocently sitting in bed reading I experienced a very sharp stabbing pain in my clitoris. It last only a few minutes and then subsided as quickly as it came on. It put it down to “one of those things”. The following morning I woke up …

New and need advice and help
Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:26 pm by Cin124
Hi everyone,
About three months ago, I started having vaginal and vulval itching. Then, about two months ago, my vulva started to feel painful and look swollen, so I went to the doctor. I was tested for herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea which all came back negative. I also had to do a vaginal swab test and the only thing that came back positive was yeast infection. I was prescribed hydrozole …

What do you do for your period?
Hi ladies,
Wondering if any of you would mind sharing what you do when Aunt Flow comes to town. I was able to comfortably wear tampons until January (my issues started last Nov) I've found that regular pads rub me raw, so I've been, well....bleeding in old undies, but clearly need an alternative. (Sorry for the TMI)
I just found out about cloth pads but don't have time to wait for them to ship and the "Whole Foods" type grocery stores around me don't have them in stock. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Re: What do you do for your period?
Hi there Kathye10
'Aunt Flow' - i like that! I call mine Mr Blobby! (only people from the UK will get that reference!)
Like you i haven't used tampons since my vvd started in Nov 11. Although i'm feeling better now i haven't yet dared go back to them. I use Natracare sanitary towels - organic, 100% cotton, not bleached - they seem to irritate less. I also put coconut oil on vestibule and labia which acts as both a lubricant and a bit of a barrier so again helps reduce irritation.
Other things which also seem to help - i change my pads more frequently than i did pre-vvd even if my flow isn't heavy, i keep a small jug (or small water bottle if i'm out) handy and rinse every time i change the pad and i stop wearing the pads as soon as i can (even tho it means i have to wear old knickers in the last few days of my period in case of any last 'dregs'!
I looked at cloth pads but never got round to trying them as i found the Natracare ok for me. I also bought a Mooncup but haven't dared try that yet!

PS and i tried panty liners for those last few days but i found they irritated me more than pads, even the Natracare liners.

Re: What do you do for your period?
Hi LouLou,
Thank you for your response. Too funny, I just bought the Nutracare pads (Haven't started my period yet) and I'm hoping they will be okay because they don't have the plastic covering over the cotton. The coconut oil is a great idea!! I thought about the mooncup, but like you I'm also scared. The cloth pad idea will be my last resort because one, they are expensive and two, having to hand wash them seems like a bit of a pain and I'm lazy so...haha
Thanks again for sharing!

Re: What do you do for your period?
Talking of the "plastic cover" thing, I used to use Always which have that waxy top layer and a nurse at our doctors surgery told me to use Bodyform instead because they don't have it either so i use those pads now. They do rub a bit but all pads will rub a bit. I occasionallly use tampons but not often as I tend to get thrush if I use them regularly. I tried the Natracare range but didn't find them any better than Bodyform and I had to order them online which made it a very expensive purchase with the postage!

Now that's something I don't know, they're a big company and available everywhere here in the UK so I assumed they would be worldwide, try googling them.

I also use natracare towels they are very soft and don't irritate they just are not as good as absorbing I have to use super plus. I used to use always but they really do irritate me.

Hahaha, I know, me neither, which is why I'm hoping the cotton pads do the trick.
